Bottled (from old bottle at the brewpub. The lady brewer popped one of these, as they had a tasting in the evening, where it would be opened, so I got a 4 cl taster). Quite much pitch black colour with small brown head. Aroma is chocolate, some liquorice, mild alcohol, some vanilla as well as mild madeirawinelike notes (aka oxidized). Flavour is chocolate, liquorice, mild alcohol, vanilla, some roasted malts as well as mild honeyish notes. Mild notes of madeira, but not disturbingly much. Lovely, and probably was even better when fresh.

Draught@Bredaryds Wärdshus. Hazy ambery brown colour with small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, some mild berries as well as fruity and floral hops. Flavour is caramel malts, some mild berries along with some herbal notes as well. Not that much bitterness, but does give a quite bitter bite in the finish.

Draught at the brewpub. Lightly hazy nut brown, small head. Floral and fruity. Rather dry with fairly light body. Soft with light caramel and pear tones. Finishes with medium bitterness. A nice, aromatic very drinkable everyday ale.

From tank at the brewpub on Paril 25, 2009Hazy copper color, no head. Stable, spicy, yeasty scent. Sweet, malty, licorice, stable taste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Bit too young still but will be interesting to hopefully ty again with co2 and less yeast notes.

We were offered a bottle of this brew from 2003 on April 25, 2009, as the end of our fantastic beer tating.When I smelled it my thoughts ran wild, oh my god! Very rarely do I smell a beer and immediately think I do not want to taste it, because the taste can’t be as perfect as the smell!It wasn’t. Unfortunately it had gone sour, though in the back you could still hint a nice chocolate tone. How I would have liked to try this at it’s peak, it must have been amazing!Thank you very very much to Petra at the brewpub to go the extra mile and giving us this free sample, it was most excellent and awesome service!Black color, brown head. Chocolate, roasted, sweet scent. Also alcohol and wood. Very very very nice! Acidic taste, also chocolate. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Draught at the brewpub on April 25, 2009Served in their own glassHazy light brown color from a new keg. My mate right next to me had a clear beer from the older keg. White head. Spicy, licorice, some smoke scent, also sweet and fresh. Spicy, herbal, bitter taste. Licorice and bitter aftertaste. Draught at Söderbärke Mikroölfestival. Hazy nut brown small head. Carefully almony yeasty nose. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Caramelly and lightly woody with notes of orange. Solid chewy malt malt backs the the estery yeast flavours. Finishes with low bitterness but light hints of glue. A archetypical belgian style ale.

Draught@Brewpub. Deep amber colour, mediumsized creamy off-white head. Aroma is fruits, figs, wood and has some mild notes of berries and vanilla. Flavour is big dry wood, grassy hops, mild raisins and figs. As it warms up also some strong caramelly notes show up. Lovely!

Draught@Brewpub. Hazy orange colour, small creamy head. Aroma is peat, smoke, fruity hops and mild notes of yeast. Flavour is peat, grass, some fruits and strong notes of yeast. Dry yeasty and hoppy aftertaste.

Draught at the brewpub. Cloudy orange/amber, small creamy head. Peaty smokey nose with grapefruit underneath. Medium sweet with light-medium body and clean rounded mouthfeel. Notes of peach and medicin. Long salty smokey bitterness. Original and tasty!
