My can say homage skull sessjion, but I read its the same beer as their other skull sessions, including the scarlet. Pour is like iced tea, no head. Ever so mild malt nose, barely detectable. First taste has a tad of that immature brewer phenolic bite in there. Decent level of carbonation. Near the middle, yes there is some of that vienna caramelized malt but the mostly I can't ignore that sharp pointed bitter bite. As I near the end, I seem to be getting used to it, and it seems to wane, but this stuff needs a few manners. Just saying. I hope the crispness they refer too in the description is not that medium astringent bite I'm detecting. Has a way to go if it wants to be up there with Trader Joe's Jose Dark, Birdfish Speedy Penguino, Modelo Noche Especial or even Michelob Amberbock.

Looks like lemonade when poured from a can. Very thin white head. Nose is a rather crisp pale ale hop aroma. First taste is interesting; initially, I think its IPA hops but that fades immediately into a less bitter, more tolerable, flavor that is backed up with some pretty good fine sizzling carbonation. Yes, the carbonation level is quite nice. Almost cutting, but not. This co2 level almost makes this quite hoppy pale ale a little refreshing and manageable. Too many pale ales of the domestic variety are so guilty if trying to be an IPA. Its welcoming to find a pale ale that is just that, a plain, on style, pale ale! For near 6% this stuff goes down rather easy and before I knew it, I was at the bottom of the can. Yea, hides the alky content rather well. There, you have it.

Can, clear pale pour with a very thin head. Citrusy hop nose. Big terribly on style bitterness. Makes me think I'n chewing on an old rubber inner tube. Sharp IPA flavor. A pale lager lover's palate will be destroyed for an hour. Long bitter linger for a finish. Decent co2 helps distract from the rude bitterness within.

$1.75 can at Kroger Ohio. Slight haze on pale. Head fades to nuttin. Redolent cloying alarming nose. Treacly viscous appearance, bubbles rise very slow. First taste is syrupy glutinous bitter thick viscid rudeness. Think pine tar perfumed hand soap and a little turpentine in a food processor then served over top of rotting fermenting green grapefruit rinds. Very dreadfully difficult and exceedingly on style. A banausic blast of monotonous contemporary bitter yawning bullshit producing bastard hops. Lets rototiller rabid rancid rank ruin my taste bud for at least an hour. Who dah heck raucous reckless rampage rutabaga cares? I like ticking these IPA styles if they are cheap enough and they got some mind soothing alky, but I'll never get used to the style. All my ratebeer friends told me 20 years ago that I'll start liking it once my taste buds mature. Well, I'm still a crying spoiled bawling wailing blubbering howling baby boy who just crossed the hymen beer rating barrier. There, you have it, directly from the mouth of a macro pale lager lover. If you like IPA, you need to put this on yer bucket list!

Was traveling home from bowling green KY on interstate 71. Got from kroger in mason OH for 2$. Pour is fairly clear but some haze pale. Nice foamy white head. An odd ruff nose of mild real rubber inner tube. Typical rude ass IPA bitter nastie IPA nellie bullshit. Maybe a little co2 in there but still bitter as all hell, and I'm not talking about the beer lager hell, hehehehh. Yea, typical green rotting fermented grapefruit rinds as the effect. Oh well, just like a gahzilliion other IPA out there. Used to be the pale macro lager was the ubiquitous beer, now its IPA.
