Draught at Lauter, small bubbly head, clear and a bit deep gold colour, malty toasty with some honey behind, hint of yeastiness,, noticable sweetness with a light to medium mellow bitterness. Nice and drinkable. --- Beer aliased from original tick of B:STRONG on 13 Aug 2017 at 02:40 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 3 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 3.5. Original review text: Bottle sample at Beers 2017, smallish creamy head, clear quite deep yellow color, nutty biscuity aroma with a hint of vanila and cardboard, sweet malty candy flavor, light bitterness. Quite heavy and not good.

0.5l can. Clear amber body with a thin white head. Aroma of quite sweet with notes of sugar syrup and even some caramel and raisins. It also has some floral hops to it, but not much. Taste of sugar syrup, hay and some floral hops again. It has more bitterness than what the aroma suggests, but still one of the sweeter czech svetlyés. OK one.

Buying it at the Denner, Lausanne, under the station. Drinking it on the train from Lausanne to Zürich with my wife, on thursday. Basical and acceptable vollbier or helles with a touch of czech pils, more malty and less bitterness than the urquell.

Tap at PBF 2005, thx Gurthnar! Clear golden body, white head. Really doesn't look unfiltered - but it is. Sweetish malty aroma, low herbal hoppiness. Soft taste, herbal, fruity touches, cleanish maltiness. Budvar in very good shape, cleaner and vaguely more herbal than it usually is. Which isn't a bad thing unless you crave bitterness. Likable!

Tap at PBF. Slightly oldish by this time, but still definitely with a more pronounced hops character than original version and also definitely better than the canned version of either. Pretty clean, tasty, quite good lager this one.

Bottle. Golden color, decent head. Nice lager flavor. Wouldn’t sat it’s the best though. Slightly spunky in both taste and aroma.

0.33 bottle in Czech Republic. Sweet cherry and caramel aroma and reddish black color with a short lived foam. Taste: sour and bitter, quite balanced.
