Description
Old Harbor Brewery was born in the Old San Juan guided by some of the most prestigious German beer makers, pursuing the dream of creating a beer, which itβs quality would be beyond compare. Established in 1996, Old Harbor Brewery is the first Craft Micro Brewery in Puerto Rico. Since the beginning, we knew that ingredients matter that is why we use Weyerman malts, from Germany. Our Passion to create unequaled quality beer has been recognized by the world-renowned World Beer Cup in Germany, the Playboy Magazine, and the US Beer Tasting Competition among other prestigious entities, endorsing our commitment to keep doing superior beers.
In 2017 the brewery was consolidated from Old San Juan to the main brewery in Carolina, PR. We kept all the same beers recipes, processes, equipments, brands, ingredients and Brew Master, reaffirming our commitment to provide the ultimate premium Craft Beer in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

Had this at the brewpub in Old San Juan during my visit to Puerto Rico. Roasty attractive aroma, makes my mouth water. Very dark near blackish but I can see hints of light thru this brew. Palate is pretty much flat but it does have plenty of good stout character. Roasty wet old damp campfire coals from last nights weeny and marshmallow roast. Nice and well behaved, not much oppressive bitter bite in this one and Iβm glad of it. Friendly finish that is not over the top, just right. The best beer I sampled at Old Harbor. Not bad for a sweet stout, if your in the area, better try this one.

Sampled at the brewpub in Old San Juan. Light brownish almost like watered down iced tea and it is a bit hazey. Creamy thin head that hangs. Has IPA hints in the aroma. Some mild pine as well. Certainly an ale with its annoying hopped prudish flavors. Not quite as high on the IPA flavor scale but it does approach that level. Ropey savory and dull pale ale finish with a medium lingering medicinal bite.

Sampled at the brewpub in Old San Juan. Creamy thin head. Just plain clean beer aroma. Pale yellow but I do detect a hint of haze in there. Some grassy flavors in the mix. A little more pilsner bite than the OH Coqui, but for the most part seems to be about the same recipe. Has a more intense pilsner bitter finish but is not over the top.

Sampled at the brewpub in Old San Juan. Ubiquitous color and appearance. Sweetish aroma. Some hay and grass in the flavors. Mild and friendly. Easy to enjoy with its gentle like behavior and manners. Some very mild bitter bite on the finish, but very acceptable.
