18th Street Brewery in Hammond, IN is a brewpub, taproom, and bottle shop. We specialize in hand-crafted big, small, barrel-aged and even sour beers.
18th Street Brewery was founded as a home brewery by Drew Fox in 2010. After years of hands-on learning and exploration, 18th Street Brewery became official with the release of Sinister DIPA in 2013. Shortly after the Sinister release, we opened a 3,200 square foot brewpub in Gary, IN. Quickly outgrowing that space, we purchased a 32,000 square foot warehouse in Hammond, IN. Our Hammond location now houses our production, packaging, barrel program, a taproom and a full service kitchen. Our original Gary, IN now houses a small 10-barrel open fermentation system, as well as a taproom, craft cocktail bar and kitchen.
We are currently the second largest brewery in Northwest Indiana. Our beers range from saisons to double India Pale Ales to double milk stouts to pilsners and lagers. 18th Street is comprised of hard working, motivated individuals who strive to be the best. Tap@Peders, Copenhagen (19/03/2022) - black with a tan head. Sweet dark malty with notes of chocolate, sweet caramel and toffee, getting the blueberry coming through, full bodied, dark sweet light roasted blueberry laced malty finish. Lovely.
Tap at Kultainen Apina, Tampere. Color is slightly cloudy orange with small white head. Aromas and flavors: Fruits, pine, hops and malts. Simple but very dank!
Tap at Pub Kultainen Apina. Murky oj look, small white head. Aroma is also orange juicy, overriped mango. Medium-bodied. Orange, mango, hopburn in the flavour. Plasticky aftertaste. Not my kind of neipa.
hazy golden to orange colour, huge, though not too dense and stable off-white head; aroma of grapefruit, pine resiny, pineapple, some grape peel, pear and biscuity notes; well balanced bittersweet taste with intensive piney notes and the same fruitiness as can be felt in the aroma; good one!
--Canned, from Glasbanken. -- Almost clear orange/amber, mid sized head. Fruity, buttery nose. Sweet with medium to full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Fruity and buttery with syrup and grapefruit. Low bitterness. A relatively mediocre beer done no service by the webshop that sells 6 months old IPA.
Rocky white head on an amber coloured body. Malt & pine aroma. Medium to full bodied, soft with a lively back. Pine, pith, malt, caramel, extreme hops & bitter tastes. Palate Wrecker - Love it!
355ml can. Dry, sweetish, malty and slightly roasty with some dried fruits, prunes, toffee, syrup, brown sugars and hints of rye, oak and honey, some warming alcohol in the finish. A bit harsh, feels almost like an old ale more than a barley wine.
