Description
Allagash was founded Rob Tod in 1995. As a brewery, we strive to create some of the best Belgian-style beers in the world. As people, we make sure to enjoy ourselves along the way. Part of that joy comes from constantly pushing the sustainability of our brewing operation and making a positive impact in our community. We buy local ingredients, support local organizations, and volunteer our time and expertise to help our community flourish. Stop by some time, we’d love to show you around.

Canned 1/27/25, purchased from the brewery 7/13/25 and drunk 7/13/25.
Clear copper-amber-golden. Large, light coffee-accented, white head.
Weird to see Allagash venture in to American IPAs and English strong ales, but I'm glad to see them experiment, nonetheless. This smells phenomenal. Soft, rich, honey-like malts with a hint of toffee and tons of soft, round, fruity, earthy, juicy coffee. Clean and with a bit of spice and fruity yeast, and no alcohol or excess sugar.
Fruity with long caramel, long vanilla, spicy yeast and fruity, earthy, funky coffee. Medium-light-bodied with gentle sugars and low carbonation. But some definite sticky, fruity, yeast, coffee and malt-driven notes lingering.
I think I'd prefer a Belgian yeast, but I'm not sure, and this certainly is quite enjoyable.

Brewery draught, 7/13/25.
Lightly-to-moderately hazy, bronze-lime-maize. Small, fairly firm, white head.
Juicy, fruity and with a light tinge of berry and pine. Winter spice and grapefruit with a rich, honey and white-bread-like maltiness. No gross, old school WC IPA character (caramel, toast, iced tea, resin).
Soft, juicy, drinkable. But for the yeast (very clean), a hint of caramel, grapefruit, pine and wood (but no resin or excessive bitterness) this thing is fantastically positioned with all of the other cutting edge new school WC IPAs. Ample, but not overdone bitterness. Deep, rich, soft texture and tons of fruitiness.

Brewery draught, 7/13/25.
Moderately hazy, rich tan-golden-maize. Small, creamy, off-white head.
Rich lime and juicy hop with a touch of coconut from the Sabro, on the finish. Maybe some lemongrass from the Mosaic? Clean and with no excessive lime, sugar, pineapple nor any scallion.
Rich and fruity with soft white bread and light cracker. Lemongrass, lime and coconut on the finish. Nicely-balanced, fun and interesting. At points it almost feels like real coconut is used. A great use of Sabro here.

Brewery draught, 7/13/25.
Dark, clear, with a light, tan, well-retained head.
Nose has some light bean and hazelnut. Or old coffee, if you will. But only a smidge, and is otherwise fruity, toasty, chocolatey and showing a touch of caramel sweetness to balance. Not a lot of cherry in the nose.
Toasty and lightly roasty with chewy cacao-like notes and a blossoming floral and lightly sweet cherry that mixes with the dark malt nicely. Residual sugar helps alleviate some of the dark malt toasty/roasty attributes and you do get a nice caramel-cherry-chocolate flavor lingering.

Brewery draught, 7/13/25.
Clear, blonde-maize. Frothy, white head.
Funky and fruity with cracker, lots of bright ester and a big earthiness which is a little unexpected.
Clean and crackery with toast and Belgian yeast fruitiness. Light-bodied, but not thin. Some funky, almost sulfur-like notes are interesting. Hints of tart acidity, but very easygoing.

Brewery draught, 7/13/25.
Mostly clear, pale-golden with a lime tint. Frothy, off-white head, well-retained.
Juicy, round, ultra-funky passiflora nose with mineral and white wine galore. Round, easygoing, well-aged/developed yeast character and a solid base of pils-like maltiness to gently balance.
Fruity, funky, heavy mineral and white grape with all the intricacies of a passion fruit fruit that you'd hope for and imagine. Lingering funk, so much complexity and so much fruit integrity. Just a delight and interesting, new notes to find in every sip.

0,355 l can. Pours hazy straw yellow with medium, really long lasting white head. Aroma of orange peel, coriander, wheat malt, some yeast. Quite traditional. Taste is medium sweet and low bitter. Flavour is very fruity, oranges and lemon and spicy. Finish is medium long, a bit of bitterness. Nice and refreshing summer wit.
