A year after the first conversation between Rik and Dirk, the time had come: the beer was ready. And it didn't take long to speculate about the name of the beer. Everyone in the Voeren region already spoke about "the beer from Rik". That is why Rick’s new beer was christened. Rick's Blond's bottle has a label with the image of a painting by artist Rob Brouwers.
In the meantime we are quite a few days and developments further. Rick’s beer no longer consists of just a blonde version of 6.5%, but over the years 2 other variants have come out. In 2002 Ricks ’Kersenbier of 7% came on the market. And in 2009 followed Rick’s Bruin, a more bitter beer based on roasted malt with 6.7% alcohol.

Hefiger aber wenig aromatischer Beginn. Das Bier bleibt im Verlauf schwach, einzig eine leichte Malznote kommt hinzu. So auch zum Ende, hefig, ein wenig malzig, flache Aromen. Naja...9/8/8/5/5/7

Fruchtiger, etwas modriger Antrunk. Wenig alkoholisch, dezent herb und auch hopfig. Süßlich-modriger Mittelteil, hefig, herb-alkoholisch. Die Fruchtigkeit ist eher gering und in weiten Teilen nur hintergründig erkennbar. Süßlich-herber Abgang. 10/9/10/9/10/9

Huge, dense head with a yellowish or pinkish shine, over reddish-orange beer. Mildly sweet, fruity-aromatic nose. Fruit could be indifferently cherry, raspberry or even redcurrant. Harsh, spicy flaovur, starting very shortly as bitter, then mainly sweet, with a faint threat for cloying. Fruitiness all but gone, just a faint aromatic finish left. Medium bodied, cloying not setting through. Bit watery, even. Rather unassuming, and also uninteresting fruitbeer. Get some serious cherries, will ya!

Bottle: Dirty ruby red pour with a pink off white head. The aroma is sweet fruit and malt. Taste is a sweet fruit, that subsides to a caramel malt. Very interesting fruit beer, almost like a US instead of a Belgium.

Fluffy white head over orangey, hazy beer. Sweetish, with a malt whisky background. Sweetish, greenery, sweet almonds and, well, not much else. Pretty dull-sweet, soft fruity. Medium bodied, certain slickness. Another technically perfect, and tastewise bo-o-oring Proef beer.

Bottle: Poured a murky copper yellow color with a thin creamy bubbly head. The aroma is a fruity spice, with some hoppy bite to it. The taste is a nice sweet caramel malt, with a spicy dry finish.

(bottle, traded with DerDoppelbock) Hazy, red coloured hue with loads of floaties swimming around and a big pinkish foamy head. Dusty, moderately sweet and fruity, slightly artificial cherry-like aroma. Sweet flavour with a bitter edge in the finish, medium bodied, crispy mouthfeel. The cherry notes are not extremely intense; finishes quite bitter with a slightly sour, cherry fruity aftertaste. The alcohol presence is obvious and a little bit harsh. Mediocre Fruit-beer.

Hazy golden color, thick creamy lasting white head. Aroma of hops, some ’appelmoes’ (apple chutney), bit spicy. Taste is bit sweet and little bit dry. Nicely balanced. Surprising nice beer.
