16oz bottle pours deep pale gold with a tall white head of foam. The aroma offers up light airy slightly acidic smelling citrus with a bit of sweetness off in the background. The taste pulses with high carbonation creating tart and bitter citrus tangerine and grapefruit notes with a mild muted sugary maltiness as a base. This stuff is bitter citrus from front to back and comes across quite nicely on this hot day.

500 ml bottle. Pours a nice warm red-tinged amber color. Cloudy, lots of sediment towards the bottom of the bottle. Medium light khaki head. Creamy. Good retention and lacing. Lots of hops and rye in the aroma. Hops are a mix of pine resin, grapefruit and pineapple with a little bit of blackberry and wildflower. Big caramel note. Lots of spicy, doughy rye flavor. Taste is fairly sweet. Lots of caramel and rye. Big piney hops. Good dose of bitterness but not overbearing. Some booze. It’s a bit much but for a 11.5% DIPA/ASA, I’m not going to criticize too much. Finish is floral, bitter and sweet with caramel. Lingering pine flavor. Mouthfeel is thick and a bit low on carbonation. Good beer, but it still suffers from the common flaws of big (>10% abv) hoppy beers.

Sample at the Hills Market beer tasting on 05/30/2013: Pours a clear bright yellow color with a medium thick foamy white head that recedes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops and citrus. Light-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, malt and citrus. The finish is mildly bitter with a short hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Woodshed 2.0. Great name for a beer. I surfed down at the Sloughs a couple of times. Bottle share courtesy of Sparky. It pours with a very dark looking body that supports a weak tan head of foam. The aroma offers up malt sweetened dark roasted malts nuanced by molasses mixed with smooth whiskey. The taste is smooth and rich starting with dark roasted malts and nearly burnt malts and then heading into smooth sweet whiskey notes. Smooth sipper of a beer.

The 750mL bottle pours with a mahogany body that supports a thin tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweetness, bourbon, some prunes and some dates with boozy heat hitting the snoot at the end of the draw. The taste starts with full up sweet bourbon and then getting into prunes and raisin and a touch of dark roasted malts. It gets a little toasted bread like into the finish.

16oz bottle pours with a clear copper body that supports a full nearly creamy head of tan foam. Right when I pop the top my aromatic senses are assaulted by garlic and shallots and onion dank hoppy goodness. Upon further inspection the dankness doesn’t seem as bold and I also pick up thin snippets of citrus hops. The taste is similar, yes I say, as I get a nice mix of dank earthy shallot like hop flavor and bitterness with a flash of citrus too. It moves into being progressively more bitter midway and into the finish enhancing the experience. This is nice stuff with pleasing balance between hop bitterness, hop flavor and a lightly sweet malty body.

Bottle. Pours with a crystal clear pale yellow hued body with a medium sized white head that fades. Aromas are of belgian like esters, sauterne or reisling grapes, tropical fruit, pineapple, passion fruit, medium acidity, light grain, and a hint of plastic. Flavors show a medium acidity, some fruity sweetness, lots of grape character, bready malt, a bit grainy, estery, tropical fruit. Nice nuanced balance. A touch of DMS. Medium carbonation, a somewhat thin body. Interesting beer.

Bottle. Dark brown-black beer with a lgiht brown head. Chocolate and whiskey aroma with light dark fruit. Whiskey and oak flavor with toffee, rich malt, and light chooclate. Medium bodied and easier drikning than it should be. Whiskey and oak lingers with light vanilla, light chooclate, and light toffee. Alcohol noticeable, but almost more the whiskey notes than anything from the beer itself.
