Description
Small Town Brewery is dedicated to crafting gruit-inspired beers. Gruit–German for herbs–describes the ancient practice of bittering ales with roots, spices, flowers, and berries. Tim Kovac, founder and brewmaster of Small Town Brewery, uses a proprietary technique to infuse a specialty blend of herbs and spices into his brewing process to create gruit-inspired beers with the unmistakable taste of nostalgia featuring classic American flavors.

Pours golden, flat. No head, no carbonation. Hell, my actual iced tea has more bubbles. Honestly, it doesn’t smell bad. It smells like a sweetened iced tea out of a plastic jug. Now, I’m a true northerner and wouldn’t ruin my iced tea by dumping a shitload of sugar in it, I will bi-yearly buy a jug of the raspberry shit sweetened with fake sugar and down it in one sitting. That’s what this reminds me of, except no raspberry. Flavor is... hmm... it’s like iced tea, sweetened with a shitload of corn syrup, add some perfume and lemon candy, and let it chill overnight. That’s what this is. I don’t hate it, but I’d never buy it again.

Bottle: Crystal clear pink with a busy, fizzy white head that’s gone before the pour is complete......actually sort of cool and violent. Candy strawberry, sugar aroma. Tart strawberry, sugar taste.....didn’t pick up much vanilla....but, in my defense, the taste buds have surrendered at this point...I feel like I’ve just allowed a whole sleeve of Sweet-Tarts to dissolve under my tongue. An Alco-Pop the likes of which I have not seen since the heady 80’s days of Fletcher and Oakes Wine Coolers......the flavour isn’t bad, but it’s ridiculously sweet and a far cry from anything resembling a beer.

12 oz. bottle. Aroma is cinnamon, apples, and malt. Yes it smells good but I am skeptical about this malt beverage.
The flavor is ok for the first sip or two. Then it just becomes sweet and syrupy. Can’t taste any alcohol through all the apple and cinnamon.
Like drinking carbonated apple pie filling. Certainly worse things to drink (and I almost finished the bottle) but more like a soda pop than beer.

Kroger bottle. Pours gold. Aroma of sweet candied apple and vanilla extract. Flavor is apple cinnamon, vanilla extract, somewhat apple pie like. Not bad but definitely for the masses. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a medium yellow color with a trace white head that faded instantly?and left no lacing. The aroma was sweet vanilla, a touch of cinnamon and apple. The flavor was sweet apple and cinnamon with some vanilla. Long finish. Medium body.

Bottle. A- Strong cinnamon, vanilla, baked apples. A- Gold color, clear liquid, no head. T- Cinnamon, vanilla, baked apples, apple crisp, sweet. P- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet finish. O- By God, this tastes just like an apple crisp. So most people aren’t a fan. and frankly I consider this more of a cider myself but I will plead guilty and admit I like it!

Bottle from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours mauve with no head. Aroma does suggest strawberry. Med body, nearly. Flavor is rather sweet, tho there’s something like a rhubarb tartness. Flavors seem to be strawberry and rhubarb. Not bad really, but not sure it’s "beer". :)
