Bottle shared courtesy of and with a slightly enraged (but willing to share) Malaysian stink badger at the December THT. Near black with a ring tan head. Aroma of the strawberry milkshake hop (TM), roast, coffee, dark chocolate and overripe dark fruit notes. Flavour is moderate sweet and above moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle from the Fat Cow, Bangkok. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is sweet roasty malt, charcoal, ashtray, fake sugar, smooth buttery toffee. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a dry roasty, hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle at the Fat Cow, Bangkok. Poured a hazy copper colour with a thin broken white head. The aroma is big tropical citrus fruit, malt, light alcohol. The flavour is moderate to strong bitter with a big fruity, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. I’m not a big fan of the style but this is one of the best Imperial IPA’s I’ve ever had and the alcohol is well hidden.
