16 oz can at RI. Brewfest 2023. Aroma is indeed oatmeal with mild chocolate. Flavor is nice with chocolate, oatmeal, and mild raisin. Very nice cookie stout that doesn’t get cloying.

City Tap draught, 8/25/22. Blueberry pulp, heavy haze though not turbid. Small, pinkish head. Vanilla and blueberry and not much else. Though it's fairly pleasant. The same can be said for the flavor. Where are the hops?? This series is weeeeeeiiiirdd.

Draught at Time Out Market, 6/30/22. Clear, blonde, small, scant, white head. Nose is a bit off at first with some glue/alcohol-like notes that seem to burn off, leaving a bit of rustic grain and very light yeast ester behind, eventually. Little/no hop character. Flavor is better, with grain, light corn, lightly fruity esters and a pinch of herbal hops. Pretty damned light, but it is a 5% kolsch, so whatever. Nothing special, by any means, but passable.

Undated can drunk 6/7/22. Lightly hazy/cloudy, copper-hued raspberry with a small, pinkish head showing low retention. Plentiful authentic raspberry in the nose with no lactose, it would seem (or very light, if so). Wheat and lactic acid with a clean, booze-free finish. Soft wheat-like grains add a light-to-medium-light body with beautifully expressive, tart, but not too acidic fruit and mild-to-moderate lactic acidity. Still seems like no or very low lactose. Clean, crisp, easygoing. Very simple but the fruit is done very well and it's refreshing and clean.

Undated can from cooler, drunk 11/12/21. Moderately-to-heavily-hazy, peachy-gold. Very dense, large, white head showing strong retention. Peach, very light white grape, overripe canteloupe and a bit of twangy, underripe mango/papaya and pine. Malts are soft, out of the way and add gentle honey and cracker notes. No brash yeastiness (bubble gum, etc...), nor alcohol. Still has a bit of an edge to it in the flavor. Some strongly bitter pine or melon/mango rind. Definitely disrupts an otherwise fluffy-soft-malty-mouthfeel and great attenuation. Not quite as much tropical and/or complex white wine as I'd hope from Ella, but maybe the Amarillo sort of gets in the way. It's definitely a strange combination. Definitely a solid entry, but I'd be happy with 6 or even 6.5% abv here and much less bitterness.

Undated can, drunk 11/11/21. Heavily hazy, blonde-golden with a dense, moderately-well-retained, white head. I do get lots of pear and white grape with sweet lime and tangerine rounding things out. Honey-like maltiness and bubble gummy yeast notes augment and sweeten the deal. No rough edges. Soft and malty with a lovely lime, honey and honeydew melon character up front landing in spicier pine, tangerine and white grape on the end. Very nice balance with great attenuation and still a wonderfully malty, soft texture. No twang, or booze. Been a while since I've had an excellent Vanished Valley. This was a nice treat.

Canned 8/17/21, drunk 10/31/21. Moderately-to-heavily hazy, pale-brass with light copper highlights. Medium-sized, well-retained, white head. Soft tangerine, floral notes and leafy, green, woody notes all seem quite soft and melded with the biscuit and light honey from the malt. Very soft, supple, low bitterness and lots of lemon, tangerine and hints of pine in the flavor. Malts are very well-attenuated but still provide ample honey-like character to easily balance. Light juiciness overall. Obviously the hops have heavily faded at this point, but this thing doesn't strike me as ever having been overbearing. Light, delicate, easy drinker. Hard to believe it's 7%

Undated 4 pack of cans from cooler, drunk over the course of a week, 7/27-8/3/21. Cloudy milkshake appearance is very deep maize-colored with a white head atop that is medium-sized and well-retained. Floral and citrus aromatics from lactose and citra definitely give their best creamsicle impression. Some strong acidity, almost pine-like, as well, with a bit of honey and biscuit from the malt. In the mouth it's full of lactose and has a strong, rather unbalancing/unpleasant bitterness that sort of pervades the whole experience. Milky/chewy texture is thick and the lactose milkiness gives that bile/vomit hint (hard to describe how it comes across). Good attenuation and the floral/citric character is enjoyable, but the lactose and this strong, astringent bitterness just completely ruins the beer. Poured most of them out. Rerate fresh on tap. While this still is no Tree House Creamsicle, this was MUCH better than in the unknown-dated can.

Can pour from trade with Johnnnniee--thanks, John! A cloudy yellow with light, lazy sparkle, finger-width white foamy head with excellent retention and light lacing. Smells of muted pineapple with mix of sweet and tart lemony citrus. Taste is strong, tangy citrus and overripe pineapple rind, later bitter pine and cracker. Mouthfeel is light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, average-to-lively carbonation and mostly bitter and cracker finish. Overall, some nice elements here with taste exceeding aroma by a tick. A bit too carbonated and too bitter for the style.
