Ingenious Brewing is the brainchild of owners Mike and Justin. Mike is a multi-award winning home brewer turned professional brewer who has been honing his brewing technique for over 15 years in his home state of Pennsylvania. Justin, originally from Houston, began brewing with Mike over 10 years ago while on station in Pennsylvania for work. Both holding degrees in science, they enjoyed tinkering with recipes by applying knowledge of the chemical properties found in the ingredients of beer. Over time this process led to exceptional and inventive beer. Ingenious perfectly symbolizes our philosophy that brewing beer is equal parts science and creativity.

On tap at the brewery. Pours orange good with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is peach candy and pure sugar. Slick body, peach candy, suntan lotion in finish sadly.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a hazy gold with small white head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is dough, straw, grass. Slick body, dough, grass, toasted grain, light finish, decent.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is strong banana runts, walnut, cocoa. Slick body, banana runt, cocoa, cracker, not a fan.

I located a 16 oz can at the Lakeline Total Wine a couple of months previous. Ingenious is a brewery that I have appreciated before, time now to sample a hazy DIPA from them. I have a Belgian glass out tonight, no problem in that. The appearance is a cloudy, orange liquid finished by a proper top of thoroughly white foam that settles steadily. I note a pleasant nose, very tropical, citrus and is that some hops lurking? The taste confirms, yes. A moderate amount of hoppiness, orange rind, pineapple, malt, grain, lemon and blue sky. A good brew in a style that I am not crazy about.

Can: Poured an unclear golden with a white head. Aroma is sticky hops and fruit, gets in your nose, citrus, danky, pine. Taste is danky hops, fruity, bitter.
