Can from High Point, Vancouver, canned Feb 10, 1 month ago
Murky blond colour. Aroma of tropical fruits (including passion fruit, calamansi, lychee), also slightly dough-y. It's mostly dry, but it still manages to offer a good body, while not being too creamy or chalky; the hopping is fairly good, it's piney, zesty, fruity; it would be more juicy with a bit more sweetness; and the starchy base hides some of the hop qualities; bold bitterness, for the style.
A bit dirty, but pretty good.

Hazy amber with some hint of that cherry. Fruity, lots of pineapple and guava. The cherry is just an accent but fits well. Moderate tartness. Solid.

On tap at Another Beer Co, pours a somewhat clear / lightly hazy dull yellowish blonde with a medium white head. Aroma reveals spicy saison yeast, some rustic notes and light esters. Flavour is rustic and spicy, with grainy notes, a rustic saison yeast character and light esters. Not hugely impressed with the yeast profile but at least the sweetness is reined in. Okay.

On tap at Another Beer Co, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of toasted bready malt and a hint of toasted nuts. Flavour is nice and malty, with deep dark rye bread, toasted nuts and a hint of burnt sugars. Fairly dry with a deep malt bill that reminds me of being back in Czech. Really solid.

On tap at Another Beer Co, pours a clear pale blonde with a small white head. Aroma is grainy and somewhat stale, with light boiled vegetables and straw. Flavour is grainy, with dry cereal grains, straw and some vegetal/herbal notes. Not all that bright but it's clean enough. Not a great kolsch.

Medium brown with a decent head. Toasty malt notes with some dark sugars in there as well. The malt character isn't bad. It's a bit thin, touch acidic even, but there's some complexity to the malt character, especially on the dark sugars. Haven't been to Czech in a while but I swear that's an important part of the profile. A bit of toastiness as well.

Can. Dull gold colour, some haze. Ok, not off to a great start there with the haze. Not much head either. Some bready malts, bit sticky, and herbaceous noble hops. On the palate, definitely sticky. The malts aren't coming through all that well. Some breadiness but not extracted as well as I'd like. The hops are okay, the bitterness fine. Going for it, but the malt profile lets this down.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver, 04.01.2022
Cloudy pale yellow colour. Aroma of tropical fruits. The mouthfeel is lean, off-dry; there's a bit of flour-y oats flavour; the hopping is quite good, offering some tropical note, some bitter citrus peel; overall the bitterness is balanced.
Good hop expression; enjoyable beer.

Poured from 473mL can (canned 04/01/2022). Hazy golden blonde with small white head. Melon hops and a bit of citrus, enjoy the nose more than the taste, comes off slightly watery. Okay.

Nice hazy light orange body and very good foam. Smells of good bright orange zest, slight pine, some tangerine. Taste is heavy on the tangerine with slight pine, ending saccharine with just a bit of chalkiness to round it out. Very well done, nicely balanced.
