Pale, almost greenish colour. Ok, there’s some of the classic lacto, but then some uric acid notes – is that the B. anomalus? I’m not familiar with that one. That’s more on the nose. On the palate, it’s light, tart, a bit appley. Okay, that’s a funny character. I do wonder what the classic Berliners were – there were over 1000 of them so they would have varied quite a bit. Not my favourite take, but I am happy that they went there, because going old school Berliner is a lot of potential fun that the brewing community has left untapped, honestly.
