Description
This team of owner-operators was formed shortly after the group realized they all were after the same thing, just in different parts of the province. Brewer John Folinsbee was planning a brewery in Squamish, industry veteran Marc Roberts had his sights on Vancouver while entrepreneur Ben Reeder and builder Adam Steinberg were looking at brewing in the Cowichan Valley on Reeder’s hop farm. After tasting John’s recipes they decided to go all in and combine forces to build the 6000 square foot brewery, tasting room and kitchen in Squamish.

Hazy blond colour. Soft and dry. I'm not getting any particular malt quality here, no hop, and it has very low bitterness.
Ok beer, but it doesn't explain why not buying a cheaper one though.

Cloudy yellow, thin white head..Nice musty citrus nose. Palate is similar but less musty & more fruity with a sweet malt mid.

Tall can from Legacy LRS. Pours a cloudy blonde with a white head. Aroma is tropical fruits, some melon notes. Taste is quite similar, but very simple. It's ok.

Can, Legacy. Thin head. Dull muddy yellowish colour. On the nose, vague weed and orange, kinda grassy. Light body and moderate bitterness. Generic citrus hop. Mellow pale malts. But yeasty, but not as yeasty as it smells. Ok, but the elements do tend to be a bit clunky.

Can - Soured citrus and tropical notes. Cloudy gold with a rich white head. Soured citrus and some tropical notes, but not distinctly mango. Solid. As it warms I start to see the mango in the finish.

Opaque, bitter, orange and grapefruit. Soft pale malts, and a hint of alcohol. Good balance, and a happy hop character.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a cloudy golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fairly dank, with lots of yeast, dank hops and herbal notes. Flavour is thankfully less yeasty, with herbal and dank hops, some highly pithy stone fruits, and some sweet biscuity malt. It is still a bit too yeasty, even for the style, but it works well overall. Big body, with moderate sweetness. Solid.

2018-08-22, can from The Gull, North Vancouver, 8-3-8-4-17=40
Dank aroma, oranges, mandarin. Less sweet, with medium bitterness, strong resinous hop character, bitter citrus peel, some astringency in the final.
2018-07-29, draught at the brewery, 8-3-8-4-17=40
Pungent, fruity, moderately sweet, with more bitterness than suggested.
Excellent.
Can from The Gull, North Vancouver, 37
Blond colour, a bit pale, between cloudy and murky, with barely any head. The aroma is moderately orangey and dank, with a bit of sulfur. Lean mouthfeel, a bit less carbonation than usual, hence slighly oily feeling; nice crackery malt base, the hops are mostly resiny, but also with a weird, light earthy feeling, dust, and then orange peel.
Solid.

Opaque, frothy head. Ok, looks like every other Backcountry beer. Fresh berries, grapefruit and a bit of weed. Bitter, citrus, but also yeast bomb. East meets west indeed...though how many west coast breweries still make chewy IPA anymore?

Opaque, frothy head. Aroma is yeasty, little catty. Moderate bitterness. Bright floral, lychee, honeyish notes. My beloved citra isn't pure litterbox anymore 😢. I swear this time last year I would have said this is too yeasty, and now I'm just acclimated/resigned.
