Description
This team of owner-operators was formed shortly after the group realized they all were after the same thing, just in different parts of the province. Brewer John Folinsbee was planning a brewery in Squamish, industry veteran Marc Roberts had his sights on Vancouver while entrepreneur Ben Reeder and builder Adam Steinberg were looking at brewing in the Cowichan Valley on Reeder’s hop farm. After tasting John’s recipes they decided to go all in and combine forces to build the 6000 square foot brewery, tasting room and kitchen in Squamish.

Re-rate: Poured from 473mL can. Murky yellow with small white head. Dank and greeny hops, hint of chalk. Same overall score, but swapping the aroma and taste points. July 29, 2023 (7/3/8/3/15=3.6): Poured from the tap @ Portland Craft. Cloudy yellow gold with small white head. Tropical hops, touch of gas fumes, decent.

Dull oxidized peach colour. Not much head. Citrus, painapo, and mild tartness. It comes together well -certainly nothing special but it works. And gave me a good excuse to use my favourite Tahitian word.

Cloudy and pale. Thin head. Typical backcountry pale, lowish bitterness, and decent hop. Indistinct but not bad.

Dark gold, bright, thin head. All about the allium on the nose, but a bit fruity, less allium on the palate. Gooseberry, but sweet. Fruity. An odd combo. Not much bitterness; it misses on that.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Black colour. Bold, a lot of alcohol, and it feels it, the spicy pepper just adds to it; chocolate and vanilla; good, but not well integrated.

473 ml can. Pours black with fizzy head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of sweetened chocolate, dark sugar, vanilla, and slick roasted malt; with maybe a bit of dry roasted chilli peppers. Flavors follow same with the peppers more pronounced, additional coconut and a bit of cinnamon. Tasty, with peppery finish.

Can. Hazy pale, medium head but it's weak. Leans dry, lots of onion, thin malts, more alcohol than a pale should have. It's ok.
