About
We have been best friends of over 30 years, and Container has been our dream for many years. We have been literally building this thing with our barehands, shedding blood, tears and sweat while sharing laughs on the daily. There's never a dull moment here at Container.

The dream is now a reality that is taking shape. We look forward to sharing the results of our hard work with you!

As outdoor enthusiasts we like to get out and experience the world; this is the thinking behind Container Brewing. We want to give people the ability to enjoy good beer anywhere by providing you with only cans of our best products.

We’re building a lounge where you can sit and drink your beer, have a bite to eat, while enjoying good conversation. Our unique space will have you thinking about where to sit before you even arrive.

Our Head Brewer, Tim Juul, comes to Vancouver with a different perspective. His brewing techniques, and recipe styles, come from his experience in the New England area. We love what he's done for us so far and we know you will too.

On tap at brewery. Pours clear amber. Aroma pine and resin; some light malt. Flavour mainly pine hops; good resin. Also some crisp malts. Mouthfeel a bit conservative. Decent WC IPA.

On tap at Container, pours a somewhat hazy dark chestnut amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts, dark fruits, and light esters — doesn't smell like an authentic quad, just a fruity, estery strong ale. Flavour matches, with lots of dark fruits, plenty of alcohol — some fusel, perfumey notes, and estery notes. Inauthentic, and suffers from similar issues that most North American Belgian ales suffer from: too estery, not carbonated enough, basically improper usage of the yeast. It's okay, but quite off-target.

On tap at Container, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma is restrained, with toasted malt and very faint herbaceous notes. Flavour is light and herbaceous, with toasted malt and a lightly crisp finish. Not exactly to style — needs more herbaceous notes and crispness. But not bad.

On tap at Container, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out sweet biscuity malt and some toasted nuts. Flavour is fairly dry and yet malty, with a nice bready malt character, sweet biscuity notes, and a crisp bitterness on the finish. Nicely constructed, though probably a little dry and bitter for a festbier. Decent.

On tap at Container, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out some herbal hops, light pine, and grass. Flavour has a herbal, minty and bitter grassy hop character, with a crisp biscuity malt underside. The hop expression is kind of weird; I like the bitterness, but the minty, herbal character is less pleasing.

On tap at Container, pours a minimally hazy red with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out yogurty lacto and muddled, mixed stone fruits. Flavour is fruity and moderately sweet, with subdued lacto in back. Not much depth here. Fine but not too exciting; and the “we do know kettle sour” advertising has me scratching my head — tastes like a kettle sour to me.

On tap at Container, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out a bunch of mixed stone fruit and some muddled earthiness. Flavour is a muddled mess, with lots of pithy stone fruits and some earthiness. A mess. Why bother?

On tap at The Barley Merchant, pours a purpleish-tinged brown with a small beige head. Aroma is pretty light, with soft, tart blueberries and some toasted malt. Flavour is thin, with tart blueberries, toasted malt, and some acidity. This doesn't work well together at all. I'm not a huge fan of fruited stouts, but this definitely doesn't work.
