Description
We have been best friends of over 30 years, and Container has been our dream for many years. We have been literally building this thing with our barehands, shedding blood, tears and sweat while sharing laughs on the daily. There's never a dull moment here at Container.

The dream is now a reality that is taking shape. We look forward to sharing the results of our hard work with you!

As outdoor enthusiasts we like to get out and experience the world; this is the thinking behind Container Brewing. We want to give people the ability to enjoy good beer anywhere by providing you with only cans of our best products.

We’re building a lounge where you can sit and drink your beer, have a bite to eat, while enjoying good conversation. Our unique space will have you thinking about where to sit before you even arrive.

Our Head Brewer, Tim Juul, comes to Vancouver with a different perspective. His brewing techniques, and recipe styles, come from his experience in the New England area. We love what he's done for us so far and we know you will too.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Dark blond colour, clear; large, compact head. Aroma of malt, honey, grass, mild pine, mild dank. Good body, the sweetness is low; the malt flavour leans towards hay, bread, with a touch of biscuits; the bitterness is bold, and it comes with a resinous character.
Not particularly bright, but it's a powerful, modern IIPA.

Can from The Gull, North Vancouver
Black colour, with generous creamy head, reducing fast; the wax was not difficult to remove, but it opened the can in the process. The aroma is weak, some dark sugar some alcohol; after some time it starts opening up. It's very smooth; flavour of burnt sugar, caramel, not enough depth; coffee; mild bourbon note, while the alcohol is more evident; the finish (a bit because of the simple body, a bit because of the alcohol) is weaker, shorter than expected.
It's a good beer, but I've enjoyed more the many cans of regular Seawise Giant.

473mL can, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out fresh piney hops, moderate resins, and bready malt. Flavour is classic west coast, with bright, moderately bitter piney hops, some resins, light spiciness, and crisp biscuity malt. Very hoppy, clean, bright and balanced. Damn impressive. Haven't had a local west coast IIPA like this in forever. Fantastic.

16 oz can poured picked up at Container. About 5 months past the canning date, but in my defense, it was about 3.5 months old when I grabbed it at the source. The good news, it's still drinking great. Cloudy burnt golden color with a rocky foam head. Aroma has an inviting piney hop, with some orange zest and hints of a caramel malt. Resinous bitter piney hops fill the palate. Flavorful hop forward brew, although the malt bill fights for balance throughout. Lingering stinging piney hops. Really nice, flavorful west coast IPA here.

16oz (thx, Alex!) @ 🏑 Appearance: very dark brown with a nice dark beige head. Aroma: bourbon, chocolate, some roasted malts, booze. Taste: along the same lines, quite heavy on the spirit, some grassy notes. Remind me some SF Boris releases. Overall: not quite balanced, alcohol is too distinct here, lacks of smoothness as well. It's ok.

Black, brown head. Nose of brown sugar, cocoa and booze. Thinner and muted flavor, boozy with vague cocoa. Disappointing

473mL can, pours jet black with a small tan head. Nose is decadent, with lots of rich bourbon barrels, medium roast, and a little booze. Flavour is rich, assertive and complex, with a wonderful bourbon barrel character, a medium roast base, plenty of booze, and just enough residual sweetness to balance. Undoubtedly the best variant of Seawise Giant -- that barrel expression is excellent.

473 ml can. Pours amber with full head. Aromas of corriander, subtle Belgian yeast and soft soapy malts. Flavors of apple cider, bitter banana, bitter citrus peel and wheaty malts. Bitter almost acidic finish.
