Description
Brewery Martens has been in business for 260 years. Throughout our rich history, which remains embedded in our native town of Bocholt to this very day, the brewery has always remained in hands of the Martens family. Yet, while we put great store by our family history, all eight generations of the Martens family have also continuously been driven by innovation and state-of-the-art processes, which is what has made us into one of the most modern and innovative breweries in the country today.

Can 50 cl. Golden, clear, good white foam. Aroma: malt, slightly spicy, some spicy hop herbs, grain. Slightly sweet taste, biscuit, grain, malt, alcoholized, slight bitterness, sadness.

Appearance: Clear gold with a nice white head. Aroma and taste: Grain, straw, dust, green apple, A hint of alcohol. Light sweet and bitter. Mouth feel: Medium minus body, average carbonation. Overall: Very ordinary macro.

500ml can. Pours opaque brown with a tall beige head. Aroma is dried fruit, caramel and minor roastiness. Taste is medium sweet, bread, some roast. Light bitter finish. Medium bodied. Budget stuff. Didn't drink more than half the can.

500ml can. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Aroma is somewhat fruity Belgian yeast, metal, malt. Taste is light sweet, pears, yeast; alcohol. Light bitter and boozey finish. Highly carbonated. Medium bodied. More believable as a strong Eastern European lager-type beer. Didn’t manage more than half the can.

Bottle from a colleague. Hazy copper orange colour lasting white head. Some Belgian ester some big hop aroma. better in the mouth. some tangerine. something like orange wine gums flavour. something not quite harmonious on aroma and flavour. overall its a bit odd but with some nice hop tangerine flavour

Appearance: foggy chestnut brown, moderate ivory-coloured head of medium retention. Aroma: caramel, nuts, bread, hay. Taste: light sweet and bitter. Toast, a bit roasted, black bread. Herbal hop. Mouth feel: medium body, average carbonation. Overall: acceptable.

Appearance: clear gold with a one finger tall white frothy head of medium retention. Aroma: grain, pear esters, acetaldehyde, liggt alcohol. Taste: light to medium sweet and bitter. Malt, grassy and spicy hop, acetaldehyde. Mouth feel: medium plus body. Average carbonation. Overall: pretty commercial. Not awful though.
