Light clear gold body and little foam. Nice fruity hop aroma, slight sour grain, seems fresh at least. Taste is tart grain, soft hop sweetness with a sour finish. Kind of okay but I'm not really getting excited by it.

Nice medium ruby body and modest foam. The aroma is too faint, blackberry maybe but it's hard to tell. Taste is mellow blackberry, a bit of malt, ending a little watery. Neither here nor there and kind of missing its mark.

Hazy yellow body with minimal foam. Lots of lemon and lime on the nose, coming off sharp and fresh. Taste is super tart lime and lemon with soft gose grain and salt notes. Hitting its mark quite well.

Cloudy yellow body and some modest foam on top. Smells of nice chewy sweet pineapple, not bad. Taste is nice tart pineapple, lemon zest, soft grain backbone to keep it all together. Ends full with medium carbonation. Enjoyable, a good fruity ale.

Nice cloudy orange body and minimal foam. Sharp yeasty strawberry aroma with skight kiwi notes. Flavour is mellow strawberry on maltiness, vague kiwi acidity. Finishes full. A little conservative but executed nicely.

Good inky black body and reasonable foam. Sharp oily coffee on the nose, lingering pininess. Flavour is good sharp coffee followed by some fruity hops. Crisp cocoa finish and reliable oiliness. Very good for a beer and hits all the black IPA notes well, but it is inches away from being legendary.

Medium gold body and mediocre foam, very soft snappy pilsner lager hops aroma. Could be great if it wasn't so soft. Flavour is mellow pilsner hops, caramel, vague grain. Muddled carbonation and oiliness. It's like someone turned the volume down to 3 on a pilsner. Man, crank all this stuff up.

Milky deep pink body with little foam. Soft sweet candied orange on the nose. Flavour is nice dry grain, soft blood orange accents. Soft introduction of the blood orange, still grain forward, which I really appreciate.

Can from Jak's, Granville South, Vancouver
Dark blond colour, just slightly hazy. Moderate aroma, piney and herbaceous. Good malt presence, a bit bready, toasty; the mouthfeel is fairly dry; bold bitterness, but the hop is just herbaceous and a bit resinous, not the bright character (maybe piney, zesty and a bit fruity) of the best modern IPAs. It's clean, bold, and following the modern IPA paradigm, we just wish for a brighter hop character.
