Growler thanks to Randall! Pours a clear golden orange with a near white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has notes of earthy citrus with backing notes of cake batter and sweet grains. Flavor has a strong malt profile with a bit of a cake batter note with and earthy but sweet citrus finish.

Growler thanks to Luke. Pours a pure black color with a medium brown head. A massive nose of pure maple, light smoke. A somewhat thin body, smoke, toffee, some toasted malt, more huge sweet maple, even some ice cream. Quite interesting. Good.

4 oz sample draft at the brewery in Oakland Park, Florida. The pour is a hazed gold yellow with great lace left behind on the taster glass. The aroma is a fresh, great dank resin. All about the hops. The taste is the dank resin hops throughout, balanced a bit with cracker malt backbone. Really fresh taste. The palate is light bodied, though the unfiltered mouthfeel gives a nice heft that these low alcohol IPA’s rarely have. Super easy to drink. Really nice, one of the best I have had of this style.

4 oz sample draft at the brewery in Oakland Park, Florida. The pour is mostly clear darker copper. The aroma is soft wood, along with some floral and the resin of the base IPA. The taste is huge on the oak wood, immediate, and sustaining. Along with the wood as a bit of butter character. The resin of the IPA is really buried below the wood, and is barely discernible. The palate is medium bodied, low, almost flat carbonation. This was well enough made, just didn’t work for my personal taste.

4 oz sample draft at the brewery in Oakland Park, Florida. The pour is pitch black with a smallish light tan head. The aroma is really peaty and smoky, I was not actually expecting that. Behind the peat and smoke is a nice char malt character. The taste is the char, peat and smoke, clean and nicely balanced with the base soft malt character. The palate is medium to light bodied, clean dry finish - the char doesn’t linger hardly at all. Nice one.

4 oz sample draft at the brewery in Oakland Park, Florida. The pour is a lightly hazed golden with a smallish off white head. The aroma is bright pineapple citrus along with the traditional resin floral hop character of the base beer. The taste is big pineapple fruit initially, round and sweet, then dries out with the resin and floral towards the back. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, and a lingering sweet pineapple finish. This beer is exactly as advertised, I enjoyed it, though a full pint of this would be a lot for me.

12 oz draft at the brewery in Oakland Park, Florida. The pour is hazed lighter yellow with a smallish off white head. The aroma is lime citrus, tart sour, and a fair amount of of diacetyl. The taste is the citrus tartness up front, move to a bit of wheat grain, and finishes with some straw and more of the tart and soft sour. The diacetyl is present, particularly as the beer warmed. The palate is light bodied, soft natural carbonation, and a tart diacetyl dry finish.

GABF 2013. Pours a brownish black appearance with a tan head. Big chocolate and peanut butter aroma that is pretty inviting. Fairly thin body. A bit roasty, chocolate, vanilla, light caramel, nutty flavor. Kind of a cool beer but doesn’t blow my mind. (3.8) GABF: Re-rate: kind of twangy (3.2).
