Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of Plovmand. Pours an opaque dark brown with a reddish hue and a dense and lacing beige head. Very dry coffeeish aroma. Medium body, smooth mouthfeel, carbonation is a little low, sweet roast, coffee and vanilla with a little dry roast in the finish. 170611

22 Bottle shared by YGTBSM. Highly pronounced smoky burnt bacon chocolate aroma. Intensely flavored, but not so sticky or resinous. Mellowed CO2. Makes the Schlenkerla beers seem tame and mild. Quite intense, the aroma is potent. Intense flavor as well, but quite drinkable. Maple syrup, burnt bacon tones dominate. Completely unique, World Class beer.

Mini Growler thanks to my Uncle! Shared with Yanick. Pours cloudy yellow. White head. Nose and taste of an Asian stir fry! Lots of ginger, wasabi, lemongrass, wheat and spices. Smooth. Very sessionable. This just works. It shouldn’t, but it does.

Bottle thanks to hopscotch. Last beer before my 32nd birthday. Wow, this one really lives up to the hype. Perfect nose of freshly brewed coffee, maple, roast chocolate malt, vanilla and a light smokiness. Taste is the same. Well balanced. I wish the bacon was more prominent, but I can’t really complain as this is an exceptional beer.

On tap at the Jupiter Beerfest. A big tip of the cap to Ryan and Kevin. This was the biggest draw at the event. In fact the mob was actually chanting maple!! bacon!! Mohago pour with very little head. Outrageous maple nose. A little thin in the body, but the taste is fantastic with maple syrup, caramel malt, sweet coffee, and vanilla dominating the palate...

Growler thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours with a deep near black body and a large and long lasting tan head with good lace. Aroma from afar of coffee and vanilla. Up close: huge roast and a ton of minerallity, smoke, delicate toffee, and artificial (aunt jemima’s) maple syrup (fenugreek stuff). Basically smells like an IHOP. Flavor has a sweetness and mapleness that is hidden by the coffee in the aroma. Really nice sweetness. Huge flavors and complexity for 6.3%! Some coffee as well, nice bitter balance. A bit of lactose possibly too. Really tasty. Creamy carbonation. Really well done, might have to recreate this.
