Description
Our brewery's name was inspired by the stories of Rudyard Kipling’s travels across Canada and his famous quote “This part of the country seems to have all hell for a basement, and the only trap door appears to be in Medicine Hat. And you don’t even think of changing the name of your town. It’s all your own and the only hat of its kind on earth.” – Rudyard Kipling 1907

We take pride in our community, and we've worked with a variety of local businesses, tradespeople and artists to make our dream a reality. We're excited to let you know that we're now open for business. We can't wait for you to come in and taste what we've created (if you're over 18 of course).

Can - Strawberry ice cream. Clearish gold with a decent white head. Strawberry, perfume, grass and some grains with a bit of bitterness in the finish. Odd, but I can say it is reasonably well executed.

355ml can. Pours a murky gold-orange with lots of yeast particles in suspension and a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves plenty of chunky lacing. Sweet aroma of bready malt, caramel, strawberries, vanilla and floral hops. Sweet flavour of grainy malt, caramel, artificial strawberries, lactose, sugar, vanilla and piney hops in a dry, slightly tart finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Cloying and disappointing.

355ml can. Pronounced "huduhudu" which means the feather in Maori. Pours a murky pale yellow with a small, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Mild fruity aroma of grainy pale malt, lemon, lime, melon, guava, pineapple, white grapes and an odd dill note. Sweet fruity flavour of crackery pale malt, melon, pineapple, guava, kiwi, white grape, dill, lemon, lime and a hint of mint with a dry, mildly bitter finish. Light body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft to almost flat carbonation. This beer is as light as a feather, but not necessarily in a good way. Refreshing and thirst quenching, but for a Pale Ale it is too light on aroma, flavour and bitterness.
