Süßer Hopfengeruch. Süßlich aber auch wässrig hopfig im Antrunk, starke Bitterkeit. Deutlich herb, spät blumig, dabei aber ziemlich trocken. Langer ausdrucksstarker Nachgeschmack, bitter-hopfig und leicht getreidig. 9/8/7/11//10

Bottled at Ottawa gathering. Hazy amber, small head. Honey and toffee up front. Mid sweet with light-medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Caramel and honey. Low bitterness.

A reddish copper ale with a thin white head. In aroma, caramel malt with light grassy hops, oxidized, herbaceous character, not very good. In mouth, sweet caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, oxidized honey notes, blah... Tasted with GRM and Omhper, March 2017.

Bottle from Chris. Nothing exceptional on the pour. Aroma right in the middle, grainy, some paste. Taste has some papery notes, grainy. Nothing great but drinkable.

12oz bottle thanks to Steveoj. Pours out pale golden topped with a white head. Nose is corn pale malts and some sweet grass. Taste is more of the corn light malts and some ROR.

12oz can thanks to Steveoj. Pours out a cloudy dishwater topped with a white head. Nose is light belg yeast notes. Taste is more of the light belg notes and some light spice.

Flasche ("Panda Eyes Red Honey Ale", 33 cl) vom Panda Brew Pub, Dongsi Beidajie, Peking. - Kupferrotbraun, klar; kaum Schaum. - In der Nase warmes Karamelmalz, holzig-krautige Herbe und deutlich oxidierte, schwach muffige Züge. - Im Antrunk bitteres Karamelmalz und krautige, holzige Herbe. Eine schwache Honigsüße (laut Etikett wurde Honig verwendet) kommt nicht gegen die die unangenehme Holzigkeit an. Schwach rezent, etwas abgestanden. Ranzig bitterer, leicht fuseliger Nachgeschmack. - Unangenehm herb und zu alt, obwohl erst vor kurzem direkt ab Brauerei gekauft. Kein Genuß.

Flasche (6,5 %, 33 cl) aus dem Kühlschrank der Brauerei in Dongsi North Street. Auf dem Kronkorken: 20160425. - Schönes Orangegold, nur wenig trüb, kaum Schaum. - In der Nase würziges Karamelmalz, krautig-bitterer Hopfen und leicht weinähnliche, „alte“ Noten. - Antrunk karamellig-malzbitter mit holziger Herbe. Fruchtige Hopfenaromen: Fehlanzeige. Gut rezent, leicht sirupartige Anklänge. Im Abgang kräftige unkrautige Herbe mit viel Holz, das in einen langen, schon unangenehm holzig-bitteren Nachtrunk mit leicht fuseligen Noten mündet. - Wenig angenehmes, schroff holziges Bier mit abgestandener Bittere. Warum eine Brauerei überhaupt 6 Monate alte Flaschen verkauft?
