(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 5 Oct 2023) Reddish amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of chocolate, caramel and earthy hops. Malty, hoppy taste with caramel, chocolate, dried fruit, raisins and a balanced earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well made strong bitter. Nice one.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Pigs Ear 2023. A very mild and slow gusher. Pours mostly clear yellow-gold with a billowing white froth that settles to a cream. It’s a fairly straight-ahead, throwback kind of saison, no bells and whistles, just some bready wheat, slight yeast notes, biscuit, a hint of lemon peel, white bread, nips of candi sugar. Light bodied with lively, small-bubble carbonation. Somewhat sweet to finish, some husky pale grains, wheaty biscuits. Decent enough.
