On tap at BRB, pours a hazy golden with a small white head. Nose is somewhat sweet, with corn, cereal malts and straw. Flavour is quite crisp and bitter for a lager, with biscuity malt, straw and a rather harsh, dry hoppy astringency on the finish. Clean and well-balanced, with good drinkability. Solid.

Dark brown color, near black. Decent roastiness, decent oatmeal, but also a bit buttery. Roasted nuts. Controversial.

Dark amber color, clean. It has some more caramel flavor and less sweetness than the Oktoberfest, more nutty. But in the end it’s a very simple beer.

Cask at BRB, Richmond, BC; 20oz
Hazy amber color, no head. Round mouthfeel, with some malt and caramel flavor; the aroma is too light; ordinary bitterness, light nuts and fruitiness in the final.
Easy but not bad.

I sipped the keg version too, and it has a bit more of punch. The cask doesn’t help this beer.

Cloudy light amber color. Some malt flavor, enough bitterness but no hop qualities, and a very light infection crawling in this one as well.
Simple beer.

Dark mahogany color with thin creamy head. The aroma and flavor are a bit yeasty, in a pleasant way; good flavor of dark malts, a hint of mild chocolate, and correct bitterness. Wisely made.

Brown color. A bit of roasted malts. But there’s no point in digging further because this beer is infected, sour.

Dark brown color with tan creamy head. It has some roasted malt notes and light sourness, and more roastiness in the final. Likely infected. Unprofessionally sold.

Cloudy dull amber color with creamy head. The aroma is anonymous, the flavor is a bit bready, and it has a light lemony touch. Not a proper Mild, nice beer anyway, too timid.

Growler, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma is massively yeast-forward in the Belgian character, followed by light piney hops. Flavour is huge on the Belgian yeast and coriander, with only light hopping. Wouldn't call this is a IIPA, but it's quite clean and refreshing. Solid.

Draught at the brewpub; 16 oz
Cloudy orange-blond color with small compact head. Very nice aroma of pale malt, stronger than the hops, and wood, white wine cask. Good body strength, moderately sweet; the malt flavor is less assertive; it has a strong yeast character, spicy, and possibly there is Brett (been told later, it’s just Belgian yeast); the hops have a quite strong resiny component, and plenty of bitter orange peel.
A bit chaotic, but also a lot of character in this beer.
