Description
Gigantic Brewing Company is an independent, crafty brewery located in the Southeast quadrant of the Peoples Republic of Portland. Brewer/Owners Ben Love and Van Havig are veterans of the Oregon brewing community.

At Gigantic we only do two things: make the best damn IPA in Portland, Oregon and produce seasonal, exciting, flavorful beers, most of which will be brewed only once. Our goal is simultaneously to create new interpretations of classic styles and to ignore those same style guidelines completely and brew whatever our creative natures produce.

Pint presented on nitro at Henry's Tavern, Portland Airport. Dark and dense jet black pour, tan cream foam. Silk body, cool chocolate notes, toasty mild bitter linger. Chocolate, toasty malt aroma. Really easy drinking, somewhat dry stout. Nitro cream really makes this one slide down the hatch quick. Very tasty.

29th December 2023 Pretty much a clear deep amber brown beer, small tan head. Smooth and somewhat airy palate, good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a decent creamy sweetness and a big toffee vibe, slightly singed. Some alcohol whiskey spice nibbles in the mid but this is not a hot barleywine. Rich fruity whiskey on the back end. More ripe fruits than whiskey but with that boozy spice very present. A rich and rewarding barleywine. Boozy but not hot. That's how a good ba barleywine should be for me.

Pretty much a clear deep amber beer, good pale tan head fizzes away rapidly. Fairly light palate for it's hefty abv, mildly dry and with reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth malts, a good dose of dark toffee. Mild malt creamy sweetness and a light touch of damp aged wood. Rich fruity whiskey brings up the back end, rich but not that spicy for a rye whiskey barrel. Some barrel induced vanilla rounds things off nicely. Another one of these big Gigantic barleywines that drinks indecently easily.

Draft at Loyal Legion. Dark, clear golden pour; small, creamy white head. Light smoky aroma, smoked meats. Taste carries that smoky edge to a full bodied, bready base, the smoked malts working in tandem with the weizen yeast for some fruity and sweet flavors. Very well balanced.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenny, 17/12/23. Unclear deep mahogany brown with a light beige cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is whisky barrel, dark malts, stewed fruits, toffee, spice, booze tunes, oak, dates. Taste comprises dates, figs, whisky kissed, fruit cake mix, molasses, toasted brown sugars, toffee, caramel, booze. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a rising kiss of alcohol. Solid sipper.

9th December 2023 A light haze on this amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth palate, semi dry and with a good fine minerally crispness. Pretty fucken light for the hefty abv! Good show! Smooth malts, a little creamy sweetness. Nice chocolate streak. The Irish Whiskey brings a smooth ripe fruity spicyness and more creamyness! Some vanilla barrell and boozy spice on the end. Then some savoury wood! Not the most complex of barleywines but it delivers the barrel with aplomb

500 ml bottle. Pours a dark black hue with a tiny beige head. A huge boozy vinous nose. Very big beer, the nocino is massive, almost overpowering, spices, vinous, nutty, some roast. No real rum. Decadent.
