Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours pretty black with a medium tan foamy head. Aroma of dark roast malt, nuts, and chocolate. Med body. Very smooth. Mild carb. Flavor is burnt malt, a hint of coffee, and some honey note in the aftertaste. Chocolate got away from me. Now the honey is becoming too noticeable. Different stuff.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours thick and dark with some transitory tan bubbles. From a foot away the aroma seems anise. Up close it seems chcocolate and dark fruit. Near full body. Flavor is kind of a raisin/chocolate/anise combo. Finishes with a smokey note. Then it goes more like treacle/raisin. Ok, mysterious and complex work here.

Bomber from Whidbey Beer Works. Pours dark, ruddy, kind of copper with a four finger off-white head. Aroma is definitely spicey. Almost like Xmas stuff. Rosemary? Medium body, moderate carbonation. Flavor is heavily roasted malt with a strong spice component. I’m still thinking there’s rosemary in this. Whatever, it is spicey. It’s not bitter. The malt is balanced by the spice. Gotta be full of antioxidants. This really takes control of the mouth. Not a trace of heat. Very good stuff.

Bomber from Whidbey Beer Works. Pours hazy orange gold with a few white bubbles. Aromas of malt and arguably banana. Medium body with mild, lightly foamy carbonation. Flavor is mild banana, and I’d say spice - pepper is spice! Like it does have flavor - but it’s not easy to describe other than fruit and malt. It is tasty. It is unusual.

Bomber from Whidbey Beer Works. Pours amber gold with a foamy/frothy white head. Quite a hoppy aroma. Verges on cat pee. Medium body. Mild but frothy carbonation. Flavor is quite floral and grapefruit. The flavor is just marvelous. The finish is almost perfumey bitter. Brilliant ale. The effect on the mouth has to be experienced.

Bottle from Whidbey Beer Works. Pours amber with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is mostly floral, detectable caramel, and to me a whiff of celery. That’s happening a lot lately. Medium body with foamy carbonation. Flavor is heavily floral, with some fresh fruit and a whole lot of bitter. It’s that smooth floral/fruity bitter - not the harsh grapefruit or pine style. Almost lush. Finishes nicely bitter with the malt shining through. Nice beer. Very.
