Description
Paw Paw Brewing Company was founded in 2010 by Paw Paw resident and Western Michigan University alumnus, Ryan Sylvester. What began with four brewing mainstays, St. James Mild Amber, Jake’s Vanilla Bean Porter, 2 Paws IPA, and Black River Oatmeal Stout, has grown to over one hundred unique recipes and distribution of nearly 20 brands throughout the state of Michigan.
In February 2019, Paw Paw Brewing Company moved into their new taproom at 780 South Gremps Street! The pub (formerly at 929 E. Michigan) has matured from a tight 800 sq ft space into 6,000+ sq ft adjacent to the brewery’s over 10,000 sq ft production space. In addition to a sizable stage for performances and more room for patrons, the new location features a full-service kitchen, allowing the company to explore new and exciting food offerings. The new facility also offers a private rental space available for meetings, private events, and parties.
Co-Owners Ryan Sylvester and Eric Pearlstein are “humbled and overjoyed at the opportunity to further invest in the Paw Paw community.” This venture would not have been possible without the support of our community, patrons, and PPBC family. Thank you!

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy and dingy gold with little head and aromas of pineapple, grapefruit and a little honey biscuit. Flavor is sharply hoppy with a kind of grain dust malt presence that gets in the way. That said, the initial blast of grapefruit (not sure where the Amarillo is hiding in the flavor) is nicely executed.

Draft at the brewpub, Paw Paw. Murky orange-brown body, medium creamy tight head. Light biscuity, grassy, slightly tart nose. Body soft, nutty, and grainy with herbals hops and light citrus. Light and refreshing with a good flavor profile.
