From bottle at a tasting @ Bor’s, with Borresteijn, Zlotta, Markoijelena, Adamnowek, Skortila, MarcodL and Harmen. Bottled 12/15. Almost black color, but not quite opaque. Beige head. Aroma’s: from the glass not so much actually, light alcohol, weird. Retronasal it’s quite the opposite: sweet, alcohol, light bourbon, vanilla, oak. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasty, a bit alcohol. Medium bodied. Long finish, but no new flavors. Nice after all.

Sampled from bottle at Borresteijn’s place. Clear, very dark red to black with a light brown head. Sweetish, minimally roasty, slightly boozy aroma of vanilla, dark chocolate, some coffee and hints of licorice. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of chocolate, some coffee, hazelnut, vanilla and some licorice, followed by a long, slightly bitter, moderately warming-alcoholic finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!

Shared 12 oz. can. Pours orange/golden with a white head. Aroma is inviting and fruity with plenty of citrus and grapefruit. Flavor-wise, the fruitiness is toned down, and the malt and bitter piney hops come through to the forefront a bit more. Middle of the road pale ale overall.
