On a flight in Best Brews Taproom, Lake Havasu City on 2nd April 2025. Clean and clear toffee apple amber look, off white head. Citrus lead with a piney back drop, good bitter feel to this IPA, liked it.

12 ounce can into tulip glass, no can dating. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger fairly dense and rocky khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hops/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Light herbal, woody, grassy, peppery, roast, charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, cream, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, licorice, molasses, dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, wood, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.4%. Overall this is a very nice English milk stout. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hops/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/charred/drying finish; great soft/silky feel for the ABV. Well rounded rich malts and lactose complexity; with balancing earthy hops, and restrained fruity yeast. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made spot on style example.
