Description
Hi-Wire Brewing’s journey began in the summer of 2013 at their 2,700 square foot South Slope Brewery located at 197 Hilliard Ave in the heart of Asheville’s South Slope Brewery District. With the 2015 opening of their Big Top Production Brewery up the road, the original Hi-Wire brewhouse is 100% dedicated to brewing award-winning sour and wild ales and one-off small batch beers.

Brewing beers with a connection to the past is important to us. We love to brew traditional styles that honor the heritage of our craft and pay respect to those who have crafted beer before us. Yet, as an American craft brewer, we are elated to participate in the culture of experimentation that has developed here.

Canned. Pours brown. Because of course it does. Nutty, malty, medium bodied. Enjoyable

From a piss pounder can. Hypercritical hazy with a foamy wuffy white head that goes kaput kraggy. Mild IPA pigheadded perfume for a nose. Oh my, first taste is bleak big fat fallacious phenolic bitter. Yukky cruel kukky. Looking for some salacious sardonic co2 to help me out, but its notoriously not there. Middle is malarkey malaise. Can barely stand this insufferably immature IPA. Frantic feeble feckless finish. Bloodthirsty backhanded blah. There, you humiliatingly have it. OK for a terse tainted tragic tick but whiny wickedly wasteful whatever.

Can't argue with the "Super Crisp" on the label: this is one crispy-ass lager. Bright carbonation meets notes of pale malt, floral hops, a hint of lemon candy, and a mild sweet rice center. Finishes quite dry, with a lingering floral bitter streak laced with white bread. Not bad.

Bottle. Deep, dark copper color with a smal head with a lot of lace. Apparently Hi Wire knows how to do lace. Aroma is lots of caramel and toffee. Taste is also lots of caramel and toffee. I really like this beer.

Bottle. So dark it’s almost black. Very small head but a lot of creamy lace. Aroma is coffee. Taste is coffee if fact it’s too much coffee. It needs a tad more balance.

Bottle. Oh my, this is a wonderful beer. Very dark brown, almost black. Nice head for a dopplebock. Aroma is darkly roasted grains, chocolate with very subtle fruity hints and ever so lightly boozey. Taste was really flavorful with light notes of fruit and nice chocolate.
