About
All Northern Alchemy beers are entirely natural products. Unfined (no ‘finings’ made from fish swim bladders and therefore suitable for vegans) & unfiltered. This means all of the flavours deliberately chosen for the beers are exactly what the customer should taste. Most of our beers will have a natural haze to them because we don’t subject our beers to these extra processes, in our opinion it’s how beer should be.

Cask at the bow bar. Pours deep brown, nose is chocolate, roasted, liquorice, taste is similar, chewy, light fruit.

Half-pint, cask at Harrogate Tap. Cloudy orange coloured body, upper part lacing from a low white head. Promising smell of citrus and mango. Semi-sweet hop fruity taste of mango and pineapple, grainy malty base. Mid-sweet hop fruity tail. Satisfying. (Harrogate 07.07.2022).

Half pint, cask at Harrogate Tap. Filmy layer, spotty lacing, unclear golden. Tropical nose with a citric support, promising. Flavoured with lemony hops and juicy malts. Hop fruity ending, semi-sweet. Satisfying. (Harrogate 07.07.2022).

Clear gold with a rich white head. Sharp rosemary and citrus. Soured rosemary and an earthy herbal finish. Not my thing.

Can at home. Pours clear golden amber, nose is sharp grapefruit, toffee, floral, taste is very tart, zesty grapefruit, sour, small hint of rosemary.

18/2/2022. Can sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours clear golden with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, flowers, pepper, leaves, herbs. Moderate sweetness and bitterness with a light tart edge. Moderate body, slightly oily, quite fizzy.
