bottle, pours dark brown with a big tan head. Hoppy nose. Huge biscuit malt flavors, little bit of alcohol and a roasted flavor. This is an enjoyable beer.

[33cl bottle] Hazy, golden colour with a mid-sized, not very persistent frothy white head. Sweet and slightly yeasty cara-malty nose, slightly fruity with a distinctive veggie note, which must be the pumpkin. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Robust malty base with light fruity notes and again the pumpkin-veggie touch that overpowers the rest of possible other flavours. Sweet and almost slick, also a bit alcoholic finish. May be beyond my understanding [10.I.09].

Bottle. Capital Ale House - Innsbrook on 08/27/08. Very murky orange body with a small off-white head. Big spice, wood, caramel, and fruit aroma. Very sweet, candi sugar, caramel, spices, wood, light fruit flavors. Medium light body with moderate carbonation.

Lots of Belgian yeast, recognizable as a Regenboog beer. Very dark brown. Fairly dry, lightly roasted with malt, but not very sweet. Probably more of a Belgian strong.

Turbulent and angry. Very faint malt aroma. Taste of malt with background of cinnamon and nutmeg. Alcohol finish.

The best mustard seed beer I have ever tasted. Musty dry spice with a bitter finish. Worth trying. Pair it carefully, no hot dogs.

Well this one certainly threw me for a loop. Not that I am one to rate to style, quite the opposite, but I could help but be surprsised by the amber brown beer that poured from the bottle. Actually in the glass it was darker, a deep ruby brown but still translucent. It produced a voluminous stiff meringue of a head. Aroma was big on the sweeter things in beer, caramel and molasses, melanoidiny biscuity malts, perhaps a raisiny fruitiness that you would get from a quad. The flavor surprised with a touch of smokiness and roast, but just enough to offset a big sweet malt body. General fruitiness comes through toward the finish. Interesting beer, not an imperial stout as you would expect but then those quirky Belgians, you never know.

Pours clear amber with copper highlights and thin tan head. The aroma seems on the pungent side bringing up solid dark fruity esters like sweet Concord grape jam, figs, prunes and brown sugar coated raisins to go along with lighter notes of Belgian yeast spiciness and dark Belgian candi sugar. A big draw brings up the expected alcohol heat to the nose. The taste is very much the same beginning with smooth spices and then quickly moving into sweet ripe plums, dark grapes, prunes, over ripe cherries and raisins. It gets mildly dry into the finish with very little sense of the large ABV. Terrific stuff.

330ml Bottle - Brown in colour and very pale for the style. Strong malt and alcohol aroma . Malty taste which is quite gassy and warming. Some fruity notes are noticeable. This is one to sip and certainly drinks its strength. Not bad but I was expecting more.
