Description

Courtsey of Fishingnet. Pours cloudy.with thin brownish head. Taste : fruity, malty, light coffee flavor, some hop bitteness, and lightly roasted aftertaste. Pretty hard to pin point it as an imp stout, had too much carbonation.

(Bottle at Hilpeä Hauki on 2008-09-15) Amber. Hazy. Medium sized white head that disappeared quickly. Hops, mustard, malts and yeast in nose. Medium to full bodied dry palate with quite a lot of carbonation. Yeast, salty liquorice, bitterness, sweetness and fruitiness in taste. Fruity and bitter aftertaste. Hints of mustard in aftertaste.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese Place in (near) St. Louis, MO. Dark brown color (not quite opaque) with a humongous multi-finger tan head. Aroma is rather smoky, like a scotch ale. Near medium body with chewy carbonation. Flavor is smoky malt. There are some fruit notes - not dark fruit. More like light stone fruits and ripe tropicals. It’s quite spicy. Interesting. More of a smoky strong ale than a stout. Thins into the finish and leaves with faint sweetness. No doubt that it’s from Belgium.

330ml Bottle (Halloween) - Amber in colour with a small head. Malty and slightly sweet taste with some fruit notes. The beer itself is not so bad but I remember enjoying it more before.
