330ml bottle. Clear chestnut colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting and lacing, off-white to beige head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, red fruit jelly, notes of red and blue berries goes along with a herbal touch as if they were still clinged to their scrubs. Taste is initially dry herbal, later more sweet and fruity, again with notes of red and blue berries, before the sweetness transforms to chocolate, toffee, caramel; average to lively carbonation. Not bad.

500ml bottle. Clear, reddish glowing, brown colour with average to huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma, hints of malt lozenge, herbal malt-spiciness, Ricola. Taste is dark malty, a dry touch of roast, some dark malty sweetness, a nuttily touch, cautious bitter hoppy overtones; loses at the latest from the last third on its (typical) Dunkel character and drfits into a grainy, bready, minimally sourish direction; in the finish the malt-sweetness comes back again. - "Gefällt den Frauen besonders. Und sehr vielen Männern auch." And most of all the ’Wirtshaus im Spessart goldsmith transvestites’.

[ As Martinsbräu Weizen Hefe Dunkel ].Unclear medium brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, wheat, caramel, moderate yeasty, fruity, banana, leather - clove notes. Flavour is moderate sweet with a long duration, caramel, yeast, phenol, fruity. Bügelverschlußflasche, erstanden im Bräustüble, Marktheidenfeld. - Strohgelb, blank; reichlich weißer Schaum. - In der Nase matter, nur leicht zitrusfruchtiger Hopfen, schwere Malzsüße und die bockbiertypischen fuseligen Noten. - Der Antrunk ist für ein Bockbier recht schlank mit zitronig-grasigem Hopfen, gefolgt von etwas mattem hellen Malz. Gut rezent. Herber Abgang mit leicht dumpfer Hopfenbittere; kräftig bitterer Nachtrunk. Unangenehm „kalkiger“ Nachgeschmack. - Ein durch Frische und Herbe untypisches Bockbier, sozusagen ein angedicktes Pils. Zu schroff und unharmonisch im Abgang, um zu gefallen. Möglicherweise noch zu grün.

Vom Faß im Bräustüble, Marktheidenfeld (21.4.2014). - Strohgelb, klar. - In der Nase feiner Aromahopfen. - Antrunk schlank mit würzig-grasigem Hopfen. Schönes helles Malz. Perfekte, milde Rezenz. Im Abgang angenehme grasige Bittere; mittelstarker hopfenaromatisch-bitterer Nachtrunk. - Einfach ein schönes fränkisches Pils - eine Wohltat nach der Plörre, die man z.B. in Hessen als Bier bekommt.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein goldgelbes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch leicht malzig, getreidig. Geschmack leicht malzig, getreidig, leichte Bitterkeit.
