Description
I started volunteering at Gipsy Hill Brewing company who kindly gave me a chance to help and start learning about the trade. I still remember my very first job. It was February time and I was washing casks out in the cold and rain, thinking what have I got myself into. I’m so glad I stuck with it, hard work but so rewarding. After 5 or so months I then volunteered at Fourpure too who eventually offered me a permanent role and eventually moving into a brewers position. I learnt so much at Fourpure and worked with some amazing people. After a few years I moved to West Sussex where I brewed for Arundel Brewery but deep down I wanted to do my own thing, produce my own beer, start my own journey.

At the beginning of 2018 Little Monster Brewing Company was born. The name came from Brenden’s daughter who he calls affectionately, “my Little Monster”. The name came instantly to Brenden as he wanted to dedicate all that he did to his little girl and the inspiration she gave him.

The name, Little Monster Brewing is fresh, modern and fun. Exactly the approach to the beer he makes.

440ml can bought at Juicy Trap (aka Offie & Toffee), Shared with Finn. Creamy white head, close to clear golden body, dotted spots on the glass. Fresh citrus nose, tropical scent to it. Citrus flavours with lemon to the fore, hints of passion fruit as well. Backbone of bread-like malts. Soft bittersweet finish. Easy to drink. Thirst quencher qualities. Hop fruity flavoured, dried fruit and orange, creamy, mid-sweet malts beneath. A piney note towards a bittersweet ending. Well bodied. A bit heavy to drink, still a decent one. Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Beer No Evil. Pours cloudy gold with a foamy, white head. Lightly sweet with notes of peach, tangerine, supportive pale bread, light rindy bitterness. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Decent balance into the finish, more citrus, peach, bready pale malts, low bitterness. Pretty easy-drinking SIPA.

Draft at the Crafty Taproom, Marlow. Poured a very hazy orange colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is big tropical citrus fruits, orange, tangerine. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter, with a fresh, smooth, juicy citrus, earthy, light floral, dry hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Over medium bodied with average to soft carbonation. A quality IPA. I could drink this all night long.
