Description
Attic Brew Co. was borne out of years of beer consumption and small scale production. Oli and Sam met at university in Cardiff where their beer obsession began. Sam began brewing in his bedroom of their shared house and continued after graduating, moving back to Birmingham and setting up his home brewery in his attic.

In 2018, after they'd had the ridiculous idea to start a brewery, Oli left his job in London and moved to Birmingham. They took out a loan, rented a run down old industrial unit in Stirchley and bought a small brew kit that was older than they were. Several months of painting, building and, finally, brewing, allowed them to open the taproom doors on the 23rd November 2018.

Attic was greeted with an unbelievable show of support from local drinkers, who bought into their varied beer board and new take on the traditional local (editors note; we continue to be indebted to you all

440ml can from the brewery. Hazy gold, small white head. Aroma of ripe banana, yeast, clove, a malty background with a hint of fruitiness. Taste is banana, mild spice, malts, fruity tang and mild bitter finish. Body is light to medium, some chewiness. Its a decent weissbier but there is no wow factors here. Its a little thin in flavour but very sessionable.

440ml can from brewery. Pours yellow-gold and hazy with a small white head but recedes down to nothing very quickly. Aroma is chewy tropical notes especially pineapple, funky aromatic. Body is medium to full, more creamy than chewy. Pretty hoppy with pineapple and herb notes combining with sweet malts, coconut does come though in the finish. A moderate bitter kick. Its very good.

440ml can from the brewery. Murky brown, small beige head, circular retention. Aroma as per can - malty, chocolate, caramel, nuts, semi-sweet, a little floral hop. Taste is very flavoursome with all the notes described but more intensified than I expected for a low ABV beer. Body is light to moderate. This is a top sessionable mild.
