Description
Attic Brew Co. was borne out of years of beer consumption and small scale production. Oli and Sam met at university in Cardiff where their beer obsession began. Sam began brewing in his bedroom of their shared house and continued after graduating, moving back to Birmingham and setting up his home brewery in his attic.

In 2018, after they'd had the ridiculous idea to start a brewery, Oli left his job in London and moved to Birmingham. They took out a loan, rented a run down old industrial unit in Stirchley and bought a small brew kit that was older than they were. Several months of painting, building and, finally, brewing, allowed them to open the taproom doors on the 23rd November 2018.

Attic was greeted with an unbelievable show of support from local drinkers, who bought into their varied beer board and new take on the traditional local (editors note; we continue to be indebted to you all

Keg @ Tap & Tandoor, Peterborough. Pinker-red but reddish with a small head. Has light red berry notes and an extremely low sourness, a hint of sweetness, is fine but nothing too stated here.

Loving the OMT style bottle, name and style! It pours crazy cloudy deep chocolate with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is rich and chewy, intoxicating, incredible amount of dried fruit, prune, date, raisin, sultana, fruit cake, toffee, caramel, Dr Pepper, cherry cola, salty, spicy, dandelion & burdock and sticky booze. The taste is toothy and chewy, rich and fulsome, bitter - sweet, oak, spice, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, prune, date, port, fruit cake, Christmas pudding, marzipan, Dr Pepper, cherry cola, burnt toast, umami, warming booze (but not 13%+), brandy snaps and figgy pudding with a toasty, warming finish. Fulsome body and fine, prickly carbonation. A big toothy, chewy fruity number. Nice depth (especially as it warms up) and balance. Fun stuff.

Dinky 330ml bottle ordered from Brew Cavern, Nottingham. Opaque teak. Thin bubbly beige head never offers full coverage. Aroma is sweet Christmas pudding and fig rolls. Sweet - not overly so - as per the aroma. Slightly sour edge. Boozy streak gradually becomes prevalent. As does the molasses.Thick bodied. Oily. Soft carbonation. Long astringent finish. I like. Thick, seasonal and boozy.
