3oz sample at the brewery pours a clear gold with some fluffy, white head. Nose is very grainy, bread, vegetal, candy, lemon. Flavor is sweet, candy, a little prickly pear, biscuit, tangerine, a bit medicinal too. Bitter finish.

3 oz draft pour at Adroit. Dark copper/amber with nice off-white head. Aromas of tequila, citrus, floral notes, toast/biscuit. Tastes of big tequila, citrus, floral notes, caramel, piney hops. Medium body with a dry finish. Medium carbonation, juicy mouthfeel. Tequila is nicely balanced. Dig this a lot more than the non-barrel aged version.

Draft at the source. Poured a light, clear amber color with a small white head. Aroma was notes of light citrus notes, grapefruit, malts. Flavor was light malt, citrus, sweet notes. This was pretty enjoyable and tasty. Alcohol is pretty well masked.

Draft at the source - poured a near pitch-black color with a tan, lasting head. Aroma was some light roasted chocolate malt notes, caramel malts, some light sweet dark fruits. Flavor was pretty nice roasted malt notes - a touch chocolate, creamy malt notes. Though perhaps subjectively not as good as some of their other offerings, this is a good beer and is certainly a lot easier to drink than some of their stronger offerings. When it’s 100 degrees outside the brewery, like it’s been known to be in Virginia in August, I’m thinking this will be pretty refreshing.
