Fra fat på Olympen. Lys gyldengulbrun. Lavt tett skum. Litt uklar. Spotlacing. Bra aroma av frukt & krydder. Smaken lett fruktig.

500ml bottle, batch 101, from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Decent pearl white head lasting over a hazy, apricot coloured body. Crocheted lacing. Fresh and inviting aromas of peach and grapefruit. Flavoured with pine, ripe citrus and juicy malts. Drying bitter tail. Soft in the mouth. Fine bodied. Like it (Tromsø 22.01.2016).

Nice creamy mediumlasting head, very hazy dirty orangy color. Aroma is slightly dry and mild fruity, weeds, berry skin, grass, rubber, minerals, hay, yeast, soda powder, paper, salt. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish, weeds, hay, soda powder, paper, minerals, salt, berry skin, unripe berries, grass. Medium bitterness, dry harsh mouthfeel. Just weird...

Pours dark brown with a beige head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, ash, smoke, burned malt, herbal, hint of fruits and coffee. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long roasted/burned, malty, coffee, smoke and ash finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at Bergen Ølfestival. It’s a dark brown beer topped by a dense, light tan head leaving lacings. The aroma is mostly on the caramel and toffee side, with roasted malts, coffee and some butterscotch. Not much chili or berries to be found. The same goes for the flavor, the additions just lurks in the background, but fortunately the butterscotch isn’t as evident in the flavor as in the aroma. And of course, you get used to it. Full-bodied and quite dry. Overall, sure a fine brew, pity there were some butterscotch going on. 150906

On tap at Bergen Ølfestival. It’s a hazy, yellow-orange coored beer topped by a small, white head. Banana, apple and a generic fruityness in the aroma, with a light breadyness and some sourish notes. It’s medium bodied and dry on the palate, not really tart in any way, with a light hoppy flavor as well as banana, apples and some bread. Long finish. A refreshing beer, but too much on the hefeweizen side I think. 150609

Bottle. A dark brown beer topped by a dense, finger-thick dark beige head. The aroma is rather roasted, with licorice, burnt notes, some coffee grit and dark chocolate, licorice and a certain citrusy, piney hoppyness. It’s full-bodied, smooth and quite bitter on the palate, semi-dry, and with flavors of roasted and burnt malts, dark chocolate and coffee grit as a backdrop for a nice addition of piney, citrusy malts. Lasting finish balancing bitterness, roasted malts and hoppy flavors in a nice way. Far from the traditional Christmas beer, but it’s a fine brew indeed. 151229
