Ruby-orange color, medium but longlasting head. Aroma of spices, malts and sweet bubblegum, like in the la trappe quadrupel, which this beer reminded me of. Good strong taste of sweet malts, spices. Alcohol is never overwhelming. Belly-warming finish.

2012-12-01, bottle from Au Grain d’Orge, Crissier, batch J411 bb 06/10/2013, 7-3-7-4-15=36
Hazy brown color; frothy large head, disappearing quickly. Simple aroma, some candi sugar, with light fruity touch, very light pecan nuts. The body is leaner than expected, although the mouthfeel is rather round; malt flavor, with a nice caramel presence, light fruity touch, correct bitterness; as usual, good alcohol management.
It has some Dubuisson qualities, but it’s too young probably, it needs to mellow out.

2002-12-01, bottle (small or big?), 7-5-8-4-16=40
Amber color, beautiful cap of thick foam. High alcohol content in the nose. Sweet, a lot of alcohol, good balance with a strong bitterness. Not special, but a big, huge, winter warmer beer.

A beutiful amber beer with an OK head. The aroma is very nice fruity with hints of alcohol. It has a great filling feel and the flavor is fruits - You can't make out the alcohol. A really good beer.

not a very bright colour and too much bubbles - Not a very intense aroma, but little bit malt - bad bad taste, I can't compare the taste to an other beer, because it would be a disgrease to the other beer. -

This is for the stuff labeled as Scaldis for the US (dang A-B). AFAIK its still the same as Bush, just a different name: Orangey gold color, med thick lightweight foamy head. Earthy fruity aroma with notes of flowers. Very strong yeasty spicy flavor with a potent alcoholic burn, not unlike whiskey. Very fizzy - I could do without some of that extra carb. Bitter finish.

Copper coloured, no head that I remember (but with 12% beers you never know...). Fruity and surprisingly smooth for being this strong. A dangerous beer with some toffee flavour and a bitter finish.

2002 vintage sampled draught at Akkurat, Stockholm.
Dark amber with small creamy head. Very sweet and peppery. Hugely malty, big on caramel. Some grassy hops. Salty and roasty with rounded mouthfeel. Bitter grassy finish. Despite it’s huge maltiness it is overly sweet and alcoholic.
Extra rating for Bush de Noël Premium, unfiltered and re-fermented in bottled, 2003 vintage:
Orange-brown. Very lively with rich head. Malty nose with ripe fruit and a hefty dose of alcohol. Loads of toffee, some red berries, very sweet - too much so. The rich malt flavours struggle to compete with the sweetness. Some grassy hops manages to shine through in the finish. This beer really needs to be rounded off, it begs for barrel aging. Yellow w/slight haze; aroma and palate of apricots, pears, pale malts, peppery alcohol, plastic, light bread notes. Flows from sweet and spicy to alcoholic, dry finish. Like Golden Monkey, this raises the bar for high-test golden ales.
