Draught at the brewery
Cloudy golden color. Mild hoppy aroma, a bit earthy, light hazelnuts. The mouthfeel is dry, a bit astringent; the malt has some cereal and toffee quality; the hopping is a bit resiny.
Not bad.

Draft pour pint at Hop and Hound, listed at 6.4%, 74 ibu. Cool to see these guys make it up north a bit. Had a hard time making it to the brewery when I had the chance. Pours a thick and cloudy burnt orange with a thick cream head. Soft aroma with fresh hops. Flavor is very malty, with a sweetness to follow as expected. Gentle hop bitter, but doesn’t quite even the score. Nutty character to it. Not bad, bUT came off as an unbalanced, homebrewish IPA. Seems to have changed a bit over time, so I’ll give it another shot at a later time, hopefully at the source.

On tap at Lowercase, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small tan head. Aroma brings out a lot of squash, along with various other winter spices. Flavour is pretty much the same, with fairly dry squash, winter spices and a hint of residual sweetness on the finish. Pretty good for what it is - just not big into this type of thing.

On tap at Lowercase, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out vanilla, glue and maybe a hint of cocoa. Flavour is similar, with glue and vanilla. Something wrong with this. Not disastrous, but not very impressive.

On nitro tap at Lowercase, pours a deep dark reddish brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma brings out notes of chocolate, oats and toasted malt - smells robust than typical browns. Flavour is very dry, with faded dry cocoa notes, toasted malt and oats. Bone dry, with no residual sweetness. Solid brown.

On tap at Lowercase, pours a clear copper orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out a herbal hop characteristic and sufficient biscuity malt. Flavour is pretty dull and uninspired, with dry biscuity malt and herbal hops. Not very strong in the hop department. Finish is dry and dull. Okay.

On tap at Lowercase, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out some biscuity malt, herbal hops and a hint of diacetyl. Flavour is quite dry, with floral hops and dry biscuity malt. Quite low on the residual sweetness, with very high attenuation. Clean and simple, but unspectacular.

On tap at Lowercase, pours a dark amber orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is clean, with notes of British biscuity malt and gentle hopping. Flavour is characterized by the bready malt, giving a fairly spicy character that could be from the hops. Clean but pretty uninspiring. Meh.

On tap at Lowercase, pours a clear golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out a reasonable balance of biscuity malt and floral-ish hops. Flavour is on the sweeter side, with cereal malt and very subtle floral hopping. Clean and more malt-heavy for a pale, but it works. Decent.

On tap at Lowercase, pours a hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of bready notes, along with corn and straw. Flavour is clean, with notes of corn, bready malt and light residual sweetness. Decent enough, but pretty boring stuff. Meh.
