Draught at Festivus 2, 12/12/15.
Rich, buttery yellow body is well-carbonated and shows a moderate to moderately-low haziness topped by a medium-sized white head that slowly fades to cover.
Coriander/white pepper-like notes in the nose are fresh, fragrant and quite prominent, yet for me, it dosen’t take over the beer in the least. Balances nicely with some light wood character as well as light honey and bread-like maltiness. Mineral-laden yeast notes are fresh and there’s just a hint of vanilla and light citrus. No alcohol or flaws.
Light salt and a minor citric character are softened by light malt sugars, dry wheat-like notes and soft, earthy, peppery herbs. Not sharp or drying as many herbal beers can be, but full of soft flavors and with a tight carbonation and supple malt body. I like that they decreased the sour beer percentage in this one, as batch one, while good, was just a bit overly sour/oily/acidic.
Really nice, delicate stuff. Of the six on at Festivus 2 (This, tempus 5, brunneis 2, exilior, nepenthes 2 and salsus) this was probably my favorite (though Brunneis 2 was excellent as well).

Big white head tops a moderately hazy, goldenrod-to-dried-hay-blonde body with plentiful carbonation and strong head retention.
Lactic acid, some barrel notes (though very minimal on the actual wine character, could not tell that at all) and honey and bread-like maltiness. There’s a good deal more of a "wild" or "lambic"-like nose to it than just your average wheat and lacto berliner. Quite funky and interesting, though the barrel-aging dulls things No alcohol or flaws noted.
The flavor is quite a bit more malty than I expected. Not sugary/sweet or anything, just texturally very "chewy" and full/round in the mouth from the decoction mashing. Heavy sourness balances this quite easily, however, as this thing is quite full of funk and acids. Maybe a touch of red wine character, though it’s faint. Definite nuttiness and wood character from the barrel, with wheat adding more creaminess, structure and dryness. Pretty puckering on the end.
Phew, A LOT going on here, which is crazy and impressive for a 3.8% beer. It’s a bit overwhelming right now, I think, but will probably be divine in about a year. Crazy that I’d actually prefer aging a 3.8% abv beer, but there you have it.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a hazy orange with no head. The aroma is strong gin, wood, pepper. Thin mouth, vinous, gin, tart, light salt, spice, clean, really nice.

Bottle from the brewery shared at the Nov. 2015 Monticello Dairy tasting. Hazy lemon yellow, thin fizzy off-white head, good retention. Aroma of yeast, lemon, funk, pepper. The taste is bright tart lemon, funk, barnyard, wine, oak. Medium bodied, bright. Quite nice.

Bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Nose brings out wood, balsamic vinegar, and roast. Flavour brings out lots of balsamic vinegar, wood, leather and tart vinous notes. Strange combination of flavours but it works pretty well. Enjoyable.

Nice looking 750ml bottle pours out a muddy brown with no head. Nose is roast malts lots of tart some balsamic vinegar and a bit of a nose burn. Taste is more of the roast sour tart lots of pucker rich balsamic.
