Bottle 33 cl. Pours a murky, opaque brown with an orange hue and a dense and lacing beige head. Chocolatey aroma. Kinda rich, malty body, solid roast, licorice and bitter chocolate with a bitter finish. 300120

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a pale golden with a white head. Slightly spicy aroma, but very subtle. Medium body, very soft on the palate. Clean malts and a little sulphur. Dry and crisp finish with a subtle bitterness. The Ekuanot hops don't make much fuss about themselves, but it's a super pleasant and drinkable Pils. 290120

Appearance - 2 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 4.5

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque dull grayish/olive green with a very lively and dense white head. Aroma has subtle citrusy hops. Medium body, very smooth on the palate, lightly sweet fruit and a subtle bitterness. A little soapy hops. The beer looks heavily oxidized but doesn't taste it - yet. It may come with more age. 130120

7.1
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7.5

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, oranget brown with a smallish, off-white head. Complex - and very Belgian - aroma of brown sugar, dark dried fruits and yeast. Rich, fat, jammy body. Estery with friendly phenols, very Belgian yeast character. I think the maple syrup has fully attenuated not leaving much flavor. Warming alcohol finish. Very delicious. 101219

7.4
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a deep, dar brown with a vague orange hue and no head. Sweet, woody aroma blending in with sweet licorice roast. rich, fat, sweet roasty body - completely flat though. The barrel aging adds a very pleasant mellow oxidized note changing focus from heavy roast to more dried dark fruits, pruney and jammy. Warming alcohol finish. A little carbonation would have suited the beer though. 191119

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 7

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with a warm, orange hue and a creamy, off-white head. Distinct nutty aroma, some burned sugars. Rich and malty, again nutty, slightly roasty with a burned character. Subtle bitterness. A well crafted characterful Brown Ale without too much fuss. 030719

5.9
Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, opaque golden with a lively, frothy, white head with good retention. Massive, bretty, sweaty aromas, a leathery dryness with quite some yeast. Light body, a dry fruitiness but it's the massive Brett that really dominates this beer. Sourness is really subdued. Sort of a mini Orval. 060619

4.5
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 4 | Flavor - 4 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 5

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a hazy amber with a dense and lacing off-white head. Nose kinda rustic, phenollic and rough. Rich body, fruity, toffeeish but extremely dry from what seems to be an extreme attenuation - this is totally lacking sweetness and complexity. It just has phenols and bitterness - hardly any yeast either. Very poor for the style. 120219

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6

Bottle 33 cl. Pours an opaque, murky dark brown with a very lively, frothy light brown head with good retention. Leaves some lacework. Sweet licorice aroma, but also a medicinal edge. Sweet, roastiness, again licorice, a little rough and some slightly moldy flaws as it warms. Feels much stronger than the declared 6.7%. 280119
