Bottled. Red/brown beer with a small off-white head. Light roasted aroma with toffee. Flavor is round and toffeeish. Lasting, light hoppy finish. Both beers from Baatbryggeriet could use some more punch. Rating: 5-4-5-4-12-3.0. 060224

Bottle. Most likely the same recipe as the last time, but at least on new equipment as the brewery has been closed for some years between these two bottlings. It’s a clear dark chestnut colored beer with a dense finger-thick beige head that leaves some curtains. The aroma is quite nutty, with bread hints, toffee, some dried fruits and a faint meaty touch. It’s medium to full-bodied, with a pleasant carbonation level. Semi-dry, with a decent bitterness. Some roasted malt notes, bread, toffee and nuts in the flavor, where there’s also a vague bitterness. Malt dominated finish. A pleasant and quite tasteful beer that would be a good company for lots of different courses. 170210

Bottled. Slightly hazy, light golden beer with a small head. Aroma it too weak, with some fruitiness. Flavor is fruity and pleasant, but also too thin. (060224)

Bottle
Earthy malt and fruit aroma. Cloudy brown, low head. Earthy notes dominate - a bit of strawberry. Surprisingly light body - watery even. Earthy berry and roast aftertaste

Bottled at RBESG. Pale golden. Some grassy hops up front. Light bodied with clean mouthfeel and low bitterness. The very light flavour is combination with a not overly convincing malt character makes this a drinkable, but not very enjoyable beer. My expectations were higher.

Bottled at RBESG. Hazy nut brown. Nutty aroma. Sweet and lightly roasty with clean, rounded mouthfeel and a hint of berries. Medium bitterness. Not the type of beer that stands out from the crowd at a big tasting.

Bottle, RBESG 2005 Grand Tasting (courtesy of the brewery). Clear golden colour. Tolerable hops aroma, hints of elderflowers. Also some strange hints of ammonium cleaning fluid in the background. Flavour is kind of lagerlike. I probably drank it too warm, though. Fairly dry mouthfeel. A drinkable beer, but no masterpiece this one.

Bottle, RBESG 2005, Grand Tasting (courtesy of the brewery). Brown colour. Yeasty, nutty, caramel and toffee aroma with hints of white pepper and ammonium in the background. Flavour is nutty with moderate hops, quite nice, a bit thin mouthfeel though.
