On tap at the brewpub. Norwegian rating no1000. An unclear pinkish red orange colored beer with a small, dense, white head. The aroma has a pleasant raspberry touch, but strawberry dominates. There’s some lemon notes in the flavor, the lacto shows up, but it’s the strawberry that dominates. The chili is mostly warming, not much flavor. It’s full- to medium bodied, with a nice carbonation. Lasting finish with strawberry and a lovely chili burn. Didn’t expect this one to turn out nice, but actually I like it a lot. Congrats Gunnar. 140604

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fresh grassy, leafs, wet hops, grass, light malts, dried fruits, sap, pine needles, weeds. Taste is grassy, leafs, lawn, hops, light malts, weeds, pine needles, bark, minerals, weeds. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry grassy and slightly mineraly mouthfeel. Nice.

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is sweet fruity, winegum, sugar, dried fruits, hay. Taste is dry and harsh, leafs, harsh hops, cardboard, hay, pine needles, bark, harsh grass. Longlasting bitterness, dry harsh mouthfeel. Meh!

Draught @ Christianssand Brygghus, Kristiansand
Pours slightly hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, ginger, coriander, grass, citrus and hint of chili. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with a long grassy, chili, pepper and fruity finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

On tap at the brewpub. It’s a hazy one, golden in color and with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma has ginger, lemongrass, grass, some vegetable, not dms though, and a faint malty touch. After a while the chili can be detected, just needs to warm up a bit. There’s a little maltyness too, with fruityness and grass. Ginger and lemongrass, with the chili slowly attacking the palate. That is the best part actually. Not much saison-ish. Pleasant chili finish, although a bit sweet. Not a beer I could drink much of, perhaps it would go well with some bbq. 140519

On tap @ Christianssand Brygghus. Slightly unclear golden body with a medium sized, dense off-white head. Strong aroma of lemongrass, ginger, ripe fruit, pepper and spicy yeast. Flavor is sweet malt, ginger, lemongrass, green pepper and lots of hot chili, not much bitterness. Medium body and long aftertaste with hot chili and ginger. A bit difficult to rate as it’s not exactly in balance by any means, on the other side it gives me a good kick and it’s rather pleasant somehow. Feels nice an refreshing and I could have some more of this wondering what kind of food this might go well along with. I don’t know the answer, but the most important thing with this beer is that the flavor is distinct and hot without being extreme or too hot.

On tap @ Tollboden. Unclear orange with a big, creamy and stable off-white head. Strong and rich citric fruit aroma with some malt. Flavor is super refreshing citric fruity dominated by peaches and mango, nice bitterness. Fine body and long refreshing and quite bitter aftertaste. This is a very well made pale ale with a surprisingly complex citric flavor taking in consideration that this actually is a single hop. So nice and so quaffable.
