Hazy light tan. Nice head. Lots of hop - esp on the palate this is woody and bitter. Mellow pale malt balance.

Amber-brown colour. Toasty, lightly caramel, quite a rich toffee character, fairly sweet with lots of bready notes...a good malt showcase.

Slightly hazy light gold. Smells like butter. Taste has light bitterness but lots of butter that pretty much overrides the malt.

On tap @ the brewpub. Practically black body with a nice, dense beige head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and fruit. Flavor is good roasted malt, roasted coffee, dark chocolate, dry fruit and pleasant bitterness. Full body and nice, long lasting aftertaste. A very smooth, tasty no-nonsense porter.

On tap @ the brewpub. Clear dark brown, almost black body with a rather small and fast disappearing beige head. Relatively mild in aroma, but very pleasant and harmonized of roasted malt and mocha with a hint of coffee. Flavor is sweet, dark, moderate roasted malt, mocha, chocolate, some coffee and balanced bitterness. Fine body and pleasant aftertaste with just a faint hint of some kind of off-flavor. Not really disturbing but there is something in the aftertaste I’m having problem to put my finger on. Anyway, all in all a rather tasty, very easy to drink beer that’s a bit more heavy and robust than normally for Schwartzbier. Surprisingly fruity, not obvious to take this for a lager. Almost a lower alcohol substitute for the porter.

På Cardinaltreff jan-14: servert fra fat under navnet Christianssand Stout. en tørr og noe enkel men meget lettdrikkelig stout.Smakt parallelt med Ægirs Lir, og falt nok et byggaks eller to bak denne.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, as Christianssand Stout. ABV is 6%. Very foamy, took a long time to pour. Black colour, tan head. Dryish aroma of roasted barley, wood and cold coffee. Dry flavour, roasty and very woody, ashy finish. Not my favourite stout this one, but drinkable.
