On tap at the brewpub. It’s an unclear light pinkish orange beer with a dense, finger thick white head leaving curtains. The aroma has a nice raspberry scent, with some spiced hints, Belgian yeast and a malty note. Nice carbonation level, medium body, quite dry. Raspberry, generic fruityness and some lightly spiced, yeast hints. Long raspberry finish. Not my favorite, but it’s refreshing and quite tasteful. 130914

On tap at the the brewpub. A very dark brown beer, topped by a light tan head. Lacings. Roasted and chocolatey, with some coffee and nuts. Hints of chipotle. Quite warming in the mouth, full bodied and pleasantly carbonated. Coffee, chocolate, roasted malts and a good dash of chili. Some bitterness. Lasting finish with a good warmth. Nice, but maybe a tad too warming. Like it though. 130914

On tap at the brewpub. A black one, topped by a dense, two-finger light tan head. Lacings. The aroma has a wonderful tonka bean scent, with chocolate, dark coffee and a faint note of chili. Marzipan and a spiced touch too. The flavor has the same lovely tonka impact found in the aroma, with the chili more present. Chili warming in the mouth, full bodied and nicely carbonated. Lasting finish. This was really, really wonderful. 130914

On tap at the brewpub. An unclear, orange colored beer with a finger thick, dense, white head. Mostly fruity aroma, citrus peel and yeast, some pale malts. There’s quite a lot of bitterness in the flavor, both initially and in the end. As the aroma, it’s quite fruity, with a pleasant malty sweetness. Full body and a pleasant carbonation. Long finish. There’s a little butterscotch all the way, but not at annoying levels. Dangerously easy drinkable this one. 130914

On tap @ the brewpub. Dark brown, almost black with a nice, dense, creamy beige head that stays all the way. Aroma of roasted dark malt, dark chocolate, coffee and fruity hops with some pine. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, roast, fruit, chocolate and a hint of mocha. Very smooth with fine and balanced bitterness, nice body and long aftertaste. Great one without really providing something extraordinary.

7.6/10 Appearance 10 Aroma 7 Flavor 7 Texture 8 Overall 7.5
On tap at the brewpub. It is a really dark brown one, topped by a dense, tan head leaving nice curtains. Roasted aroma with piney, light grassy hops, licorice and some coffee hints. It’s full bodied and faintly warming, with a pleasant carbonation level. Perhaps a bit sweet, but there’s certainly enough hoppy bitterness to deal with it. Lasting finish where the hop flavor and bitterness most definitely over powers the roasted flavors. A beer worthy of an anniversary. 130912
