On tap at the brewpub. A firm, off-white head sits over a hazy dark orange body. Cute lacings. Passion fruit, peaches and some pine cones in the aroma. One can also sense the sweetness. Malty sweetness and loads of peaches and passion fruit in the flavor. I’d like more bitterness, both initially and in the end. Full body, pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish with too much sweetness for my liking. Certainly a nice beer, but even though it’s a DIPA, I think it’s too sweet. Wouldn’t mind drinking more of out though. 130226

On tap at the brewpub. It pours a lasting off-white, finger-thick head over a hazy, orange-golden body. The aroma is mostly on the banana side, with a touch of bubble-gum, some cloves and a grassy note. It’s maybe a tad sweet, but then, it’s a weissbier. Banana, cloves and bubble-gum. There’s also a little citrus touch both in aroma and flavor. Full body, appropriate carbonation. Banana and cloves in the finish. Certainly a really nice weissbier. 130226

On tap @ the brewpub. Pretty clear, dark orange body with a nice off-white head. Strong aroma of citric fruit, some pine and caramel malt. Flavor is sweet, quite malty, fruity and bitter with citric and pine. A fine body and a pleasant bitter aftertaste. A damn good and tasty IPA.

On tap @ the brewpub. A murky, dark golden body with a small off-white head. Quite obvious aroma of wheat, banana, bubblegum and cloves. Flavor is sweet and fruity, yeast, banana, spicy and a hint of honey. Relatively rich body and medium aftertaste that ends a bit sweet. A beer with the authentic weissbier flavor, but maybe a bit too sweet for my palates.

On tap @ the brewpub. Almost clear amber body with an off-white head. Aroma is medium malty as the Black Bastard but with green pepper. Flavor is like The Black Bastard…… for three seconds, and then the habanero strikes through without any mercy. This beer takes no prisoners and everything is just hot and spicy. OK, you may still detect the black saison somewhere but frankly there is no balance here at all. But what did you expect, this is doomsday and we all better get used to the heat. Sometimes we need this beers just for the fun of it, and I just had to have another.

On tap @ the brewpub. Dark brown, almost black body with a fine, dense beige head. Gentle and delicate aroma of light roasted malt, citric fruit, toast and typical saison yeast. A bit surprising in flavor, a nice combination of saison and a light stout with the hop profile from American pale ale or even a hint of a black IPA. Still none of these and rather unique. Sweet light roasted malt, fruity hops, delicate yeast flavor and a rather dry bitterness. Medium body and a nice aftertaste with a same flavors fading out. Exiting and pleasant.
